In the 3rd photo, that’s one of the power facility things?
No, no housing on top. Too loud and unsafeIn the 3rd photo, that’s one of the power facility things?
Does anyone know if it would have been possible for the city to have done housing above those? Or is that not safe?
Feels like a good spot for affordable housing TOD. Have no parking, do 6 stories, 40ish units. Part of podium/basement is the LRT equipment. But then space above can be utilized since the city paid to buy the land already anyways.

Not MEC. Next to it. It’s one of the power station things. There’s a number of them along the line. Pretty ugly haha. But in this location especially, I wondered if there would be a way for them to better utilize the land for housing and not just the train infrastructure sheds. But I’d imagine safety could be a concern?Do you mean MEC?
But as per J_Gordo about any power or traction building, those are incompatible to say the least.
They usually make them pretty visually appealing (but lots of people on this sub still hate them). I think the Valley Line ones look better than the capital line ones. But in any case, would you want to live near or above a building that is generating 600V of electricity current? I don’t think I wouldNot MEC. Next to it. It’s one of the power station things. They’re build them literally next door to homes in glenora and meadowlark. Like 10 feet away. So idk….they must not be insanely unsafe or how would that be allowed? They usually make them pretty visually appealing (but lots of people on this sub still hate them).
