Slides posted for station design consultation.
Bringing these renders forward to point out some moron tacked on a compass reference that is incorrect for every shot, almost 180 degrees off at Lawrence.

Ah. I recall seeing posts about that. Needless to say, I don't get that far east or north that far often!

Am i understanding things correctly or are my eyes bugging. There isn't a direct link to scarbrough town center planned ?

Edit: to add, they plan to move the bus terminals away from the stc it seems. Are they at least planning a pedestrian bridge or underground walkway to stc ? If not, those working at or around the stc will probably see little improvement in travel times, and in my case probably an increase and an infinitely worse winter transit experience than they do today traveling to the stc by bus.
The sense I got was that the mall was not playing ball. Their loss. That being said, we don't necessarily need a tunnel. The covered walkway at Humber College L6 station is (imperfect) but pretty good, and surely infinitely less expensive.

I love your pessimistic approach. Doesn`t matter what is happening, everything is bad and not worth talking about. Sun out -> too hot, Sun in -> too cold. But I guess that's normal for the "Internet-Forum-Rambos".

You should be happy that MX started to communicate again and that the TBM travelled a good distance in the past 4-6 weeks.

You don’t think that ML has a duty to tell the whole story ?

Are you content knowing only the facts that Metrolinx has selectively chosen about its efforts, which are paid for by the taxpayer?

Agreed. But is that a solution currently in the plans ? - if not, obviously it could be done retroactively but with MX track record that'll happen several years after the projects conclusion.

Very strange that the mall wouldn't be interested in a direct connection BTW. I wonder if that is somehow be tied to the masterplanned community that's being worked on there but who knows.

I would hope that the owners have brought this up to ML and the the TTC behind closed doors because it seems odd and even irresponsible that they would just be okay with loosing their direct link to the TTC. Currently the gap between the nearest mall entrance and the new station is about 300m. This is 300m in an area that is absolutely not designed for the amount of pedestrians moving between the mall and the TTC. It's crossing a 6 lane stroad and a sea of parking and nobody can possibly think that this would be sustainable for the thousands of people that move between the mall and TTC each day.

As it currently stands the current plan will actually make access to the mall worse and leave STC as the only major mall without a direct connection to its associated subway station, unlike Yorkdale, Fairview, and the Eatons Centre.
