ive also seen people try and sell unopened alcohol on Facebook marketplace
I suspect most of the stolen alcohol gets into local bars and restaurants in exchange for cash.
Liquor tax rates were slashed this week. Here’s how your receipt could change
Cuts to the Liquor Tax Act came into effect Thursday, cutting the tax rates on Ontario spirits by half, accompanied by lower taxes on local beer from microbrewers
I just read this article in the Toronto Star. Taxes on alcohol slashed by half! This seems like a big deal, but I haven't seen any changes in prices at the Beer Store or LCBO (it came into effect on Thursday).
Does anyone know when the prices expected to go down? Considering most of the price of alcohol is taxes this should result in considerable savings.

I wonder if Laker and James Ready are considered "microbrewers"? Those are the brands that I drinkThe headline reads as if this applies to all spirits or micro-brewed beers. It does not.
It only applies to Ontario-made spirits and micro-beers.
So don't expect price cuts on the majority of products.

Thanks for the link. I just knew this news was too good to be true.Nope.
Laker is made by Waterloo which is considered one of the big guys now.
And James Ready is a Mooshead product, same thing.

Citizen editorial spray-painted on the former Beer Store at O'Connor and Donlands. And yes, I believe the owners of the property should clean up graffiti
Thanks, done! Useful tool, though a bit unwieldy on a smart. phone. I'll be reporting more local graffiti too!Don't just believe it PL.... enforce it.
Toronto has an Anti-Graffiti by-law.
