I don't think one sentence has so perfectly captured the essence of Transit City before. BravoI was driving along finch west during rush hour and on the 400 off ramp the train got stuck behind cars blocking the tracks exiting the highway.
To describe a signaling system that sometimes maybe kinda will hold green lights for LRVs with the same name as a system that provides absolute priority to street running rail at all at-grade intersections (i.e Euro modern tramway systems) is just erroneous.Eglinton has signal priority, no one ever said it didn't. It just has been greatly reduced in its efficacy.
Same with Finch.

For cross town they were saying you could go from Scarborough to black Creek in 25min. I would say times that by 2.5x.Not gonna let it go. When the politicians who want to brag about transit they voted against but got built in spite of them, when they are dead and gone and with the TTC operating the LRT lines, it's a matter of time before the branding gets blurred and the stronger branding — the TTC's — gets adopted consistently, if nothing else for rider clarity.

I also think that rider clarity is a bit of a red herring on local city transit systems - if it mattered that much, subways would be painted in the TTC scheme, and we wouldn't have any ad wrapped buses.
Your comment might have some weight to it if we were talking about there being a diverse group of coach buses at a centralized bus station, and you needed to quickly identify yours, but we're not. We're talking about a city transit system where no other agencies come anywhere close to running, so how is this a big deal?Put yourself in the shoes of someone who is visiting or moving to a new a city for the first time. Yes, established Torontonians understand all the idiosyncrasies of our transit system and how to get around but seeing vehicles branded with the same colours and symbols has always made it easy to get around in cities where that happens and confusing as hell when modes of transit have broken up branding.
When you're in a subway, the stations themselves and their clear TTC branding with many stations having streetcars or buses painted in TTC colours are the branding, not the train cars once you're already on the platform. In the long term, it might not matter but there's no reason to make it harder by creating a different livery for LRT cars vs streetcars and buses.

I think an earlier plan was that there's have been at-grade surface stops at Black Creek, Weston Rd (and Jane, Scarlett, etc.). Thank god they canned those stops. The fact a grade crossing with a literal highway was ever on the plans is obscene.
