High-level professional sports is one thing but being obsessed with colleges/universities you didn't go to is weird.
It's no different than the thousands of sports fans in the GTA obsessed with pro sports teams from cities outside of Canada -- cities that most have never even visited.

The Big Ten Conference earns $1.15 billion annually from its football media rights deal, which is competitive with most American sports properties. In the end it's mostly about money, otherwise soccer fans on this side of the pond wouldn't gravitate so much to the English Premier League. Goes with my theory that most people are whores.

People will gravitate to the best product. Dont think viewers in canada are thinking about the money, ncaa football is still better then cfl. MLS is good to watch but premier league is well above in the quality of play...so more people will watch it. Look at how much money the Saudi league has spent on players etc. Doesnt change its crap and no one is watching it.

The Saudis can't market like their counterparts in the West and will always be outsiders to the dominant Anglo-Euro world culture. The Mexican, Argentine and Brazilian leagues are better than the Saudi league but can't break into the big money markets.

NCAA is "better" in terms of money and marketing, which makes my point, but any CFL team, full of 25-30 year old pros, would destroy the best NCAA teams. The majority of NCAA players either never go pro or have extremely limited pro careers. Every CFL team will cut a bunch of NCAA players this month.

Did they install the coverings on the scaffolding?

BMO Field sign is down on the West side and covered up on the East side. They've putting up World Cup branding on the West side too. Haven't seen anything on the East side or any "Toronto Stadium" signage.

This is the east side of the stadium.

West side is the stand closest to the Better Living Centre and Queen Elizabeth Building/Theatre

You're right. Mixed up direction I was facing with side of stadium. Thx for the correction.

I cant comment on technical aspect of which is better but ncaa has a ton of history, rivalries, excitement, atmosphere to it and americans know how to market the game - hence can turn out as a better product.
Canada's geography means we are closer to hundreds of US colleges than we are say to Calgary...people enjoying college football and following a team a hours away rather than having to follow a 9 team league is not weird. imo

Got a shot of the lame looking cover-up for the BMO Field sign on the West side. I guess if they removed the sign segments there would be an rusty/dirt version of it underneath that would require a paint job to cover up.
