The Royal York station bus terminal is closed until further notice due to emergency concrete and water line repairs.

The 15 Evans and 76 Royal York South buses have been extended to Old Mill Station. The 48 Rathburn and 73 Royal York buses have been extended to Bloor and Islington, turning back via Aberfoyle Crescent.

15 and 76 southbound buses are boarding south of Bloor Street on Royal York Road. 48 and 73 northbound buses are boarding directly outside the station.

The repairs will take at least a month, and are expected to end October 11th.
The Royal York Station is tight and too small. There is a parking lot to the east of the station, how many spaces are used throughout the day? Could they expand the bus bays into that lot. If there would be protests (or a veto by Mayor Doug Ford), they could expand the bus bays by bulldozing a couple of houses to the north of the station?

Could the 73B ROYAL YORK from Royal York Station to Mt. Dennis Station (whenever Line 5 opens) see an increase? If so, more bus bay space would be needed. Also no room for articulated buses, should that be considered.

I really don't think this station need an expansion. Kipling should be prioritize over this station if they want to expand a bus terminal. The 73 doesn't need artics either.

73 as multiple branches and during rush hours, so it can get hectic. More so when it gets extended to LRT.
76 also has multiple branches and they never schedule the 76 and 15 to be spaced out at Royal York Stn causing the 48 to be held up because of the positioning of the platform.
I agree, they should expand it more East, not by much, to better accomdate the amount of buses entering the station.

I do agree , Kipling Stn definitely needs to be expanded. But how can you expand the bus terminal at Kipling? The pedestrian exit to the East of the station blocks any reasonable access to the south side of kipling where the proposed LRT was suppose to go. The chance of the BD being extended west is very slime. Despite Sherway mall or even Cloverdale
being in Ford Nation.

You do not expand Kipling, you extend Line 2 one stop to the west to East Mall.

Much better use of dollars.

With Metrolink building the GO kipling terminal, it didn't appear there was any intention to extended it. But I'm with you, is rather BD be extended, just unlikely.

Not unlikely...........just not in the short-term priorities.....

I wonder how much traffic can be funneled into the Crosstown West instead of expanding line 2. Have the 900 and 927 run directly into Martin Grove Station. Split the 45/945 or run half the buses south of Kipling/Eglinton Station. The same can be done for Islington and Royal York. Have 73C via Albion become it's own route. Run the 73 to Albion only. The 73B can become it's own route looping between Royal York and Jane.

If they could get half the current riders to use Line 5 instead, they won't have to expand those Line 2 terminals. That is if Line 5 ever opens.

It will be a drop in the bucket at best. The Line 2 expansion will service all those new towers from Kipling to 427 as well deal with the overcrowding bus terminal that was built undersize in the first place. It would deal with all the deadheading for all systems.
