The gigantic sign tower for Ports Toronto that looks like it was salvaged from Ontario Place. Few more feet and Billy Bishop would have to change flight paths*

(That was a joke ppl, I don’t need flight path restriction guidelines or city signage bylaws thx)
The cell tower was installed in late July or early August. The port sign was added in late December or early January

Oh...that colourful thing. Yeah...and what mburrrrr-san said above. 😸

This is why driving here must be actively discouraged. Nobody should be allowed to get in the habit of driving here.

Once those expectations of easy car access are set, they are impossible to break.
The problem is that they are going to move in hundreds and then thousands of people, without providing any decent transit, so they'll all need cars to do groceries and get to work. It'll be car-oriented density. And they'll just sit in traffic like the people who try to drive in and out of Liberty Village.

^I wonder if the benches are for the promenade on the south side of Commissioners which is opening sooner than the adjacent park?

I’m seriously getting impatient though, waiting on plans to get floated for the silo grounds. We’ve got a slip, we’ve got a pedestrian bridge, and we’re opening some park spaces- so what’s the hold up here? Did they earmark it for cultural space and it’s not the climate for any of the institutions to pony up? Do the federal libs have funding in place but know it would be anathema to announce an artsy project in Toronto prior to the election?

Sure we’re waiting on QQ to be straightened which likely has something to do with the eastern streetcar line etc etc. but still we can still plan for lots, no?

Yes, similar to the folks on QQE (both office and residential) who were promised "transit first'.

"Lemon bridge", "strawberry bridge". Somehow these two phrases have entered my brain.

In conversation yesterday, I mentioned that on the way to Cherry Beach you cross the new Lemon bridge.

Anyone else use these phrases?

Not yet, but I love these nicknames & feel we should try to make them a real thing. I managed to make "peachy keen" go viral in my high school (2000ish people), so maybe if we all say these enough amongst our own little networks we'll get momentum. It's a UT conspiracy! 😂🏴‍☠️ (but all for the greater good, of course)

There are now hashtags for them.

Well it's on Cherry Street so it seems weird to not call it Cherry Bridge! :p

We call them Cherry Bridge, Lemon Bridge, Orange Bridge and Lime Bridge. All similar sized fruits.
