Though I certainly agree that the QQE line will almost certainly be built in phases and that many of us may never see the QQE LRT going past Cherry Street and QQ, but, I think the current plans are for it to go south on Cherry to Commissioners and then turn east (on the new green area) and loop back via Munition Street or one of the other streets WEST of the Don. I have heard no serious plans to bring the line across the Don (south of the Lemon Bridge) and to the proposed Broadview extension or to Leslie Barns any time in the foreseeable future (though both seem like good ideas to me!

The current planning is only dealing with Phases 1-3 - "future extensions" are 'long-term' and certainly involve additional bridges. Personally, I doubt they will EVER bring it to Polson Quay unless that area becomes a major residential area as the cost would be huge - bringing a line to Leslie Barns has several advantages for TTC operations and would also serve the new McCleary District.

You know that the Master Plan for Transit on the waterfront calls for the line to be built in phases starting with the Parliament loop in 2014 that never got built because of Union Loop due to the cost to redo Union Loop/Tunnel. The 2019 review saw QQE going to Cherry Loop in Place of Parliament. That change when OL surface and ML need the Cherry Loop that the extension to Villiers would happen first and then the connection to Cherry Loop once ML finish the OL.

Both extension to Polson Quay and Commissioner line to the Leslie Barns were long range. There was the plan to extend Broadview to Commissioner St for the Commissioner extension with the possiblity of Broadview extension going over the shipping channel.

I see Polson extension being 2050-70 at this time, depending on development for Polson Quay and it would be nice to see that extension go to Cherry Beach. There was a plan to do so as well run on Unwin and loop to Commissioner/Queen St, but the city removed Unwin from the Official Plan as it was beyond 2050 official timeframe like they did at the request of TTC for the Lake Shore LRT..

Commissioner extension is around 2040-60 and it could happen sooner in phases with a phase to the new Broadview extension since its in the East Harbour Master Plan. as for the extension to the Leslie Barns, it should happen A lot sooner as it will offer TTC a faster option of getting cars into/out of service faster, but development along the route is a long term vision.

Both LRT extension bridges were not built at the same time as the other ones as Waterfront Toronto stated lack of funds to do so and will be very costly now not only to build them, but install them. Both bridges will have to be assembly some where and move into position by mobile movers across the barges in the river to put the bridge(s) in place. Commissioner St LRT bridge area can be easy see the piers for it to be built for the bridge with Cherry being more of a problem.

Don't see this opening this year as plan
I noted this at the Jane's Walk of Ookwemin Minising but park staff assured me that Phase One of Biidasiige Park (East of Cherry, south of Commissioners) is on track and on schedule for a summer 25 open. I agree with your sentiment that there is a tremendous amount of work to be done, especially the south side of the Don.

Visiting Sugar Beach this weekend. Do we need more umbrellas and chairs?

Just making me wonder what all the new green space is gonna be like when we build all that density off and on Ookwemin. Waterfront promenade with a view of the city?

Honestly, Waterfront Toronto should release more info on what's happening with this park. Clearly, it won't be ready this year.

It is mid-May, the work they are now doing is virtually all surface landscaping. Though they may not allow us everywhere to protect new plantings, I am quite confident that some of it will open by September.

I think we are good with the amount of umbrella and chairs at Sugar Beach. I'd prefer sticking to Claude Cormier's vision as close as possible.
