They DO have work to do but it is pretty much all above ground work so can move quite fast. I suspect that at least some areas will open in mid to late summer while others will stay fenced off until next spring to give new plantings time to take before being trampled over. We shall see!Doesn't look like something that's supposed to open this year...
And with the cruise season starting tomorrow at 8am with the arrival of a Viking ship I expect traffic on Cherry to increase noticeably.
High Park, for example, is massively better since they closed it to cars. If you leave the parking lots small (as they were), the park gets completely choked with cars circling around looking for a spot (which used to happen every weekend, but particularly at cherry blossom time), making it really unpleasant to get around on foot or bike (which most visitors always did). The thing is not all parks need parking lots to work. Even the ones that are out of the way...
...sure, some families may avoid this out of inconvenience. And same goes for those with mobility issues. However, I suspect this will be well visited regardless...as there will be likely a lot more folks visiting this, even those with families and mobility issues. In short, this will likely be a popular place to visit regardless. And it's not all that out of the way.
Exactly. We also never used to have modern dentistry. Progress!
This I agree with. We're at the corner of River and Gerrard. There's a River Street Bus that goes south to King. Then I guess we'd walk over to Cherry. And then take the Cherry streetcar to where it terminates at Distillery. Then I guess we'd all walk under the tracks across Lakeshore (hope we don't get killed by left or right turning trucks) and then I think there's a bus we'd pick up on the south side of lakeshore which I assume turns east to where the park is? I've lived in Toronto for 50 years and I'm still not entirely sure.
Oh wait, here we go, it's just an easy 35-45 minutes to get there. Buses come every 20 minutes. Perfect for a 4 and 6 year old. Who needs a car?

Nice try, but there aren't any enlightened societies that don't use dentistry. However there are those that are phasing out cars in their cities.Exactly. We also never used to have modern dentistry. Progress!
The LRT is unquestionably urgent here. It was gridlock last summer whenever there was an event at Rebel/Cabana.Traffic is ALREADY a disaster here.
Who thought it would be a good idea for ONE lane in and out of here. This is Liberty Village disaster 2.0.

Er..what is it we're supposed to be looking at? There are a few things in there I wasn't really paying attention to before.Also. Is this new? Cuz I don’t recall it being so visible before.
The gigantic sign tower for Ports Toronto that looks like it was salvaged from Ontario Place. Few more feet and Billy Bishop would have to change flight paths*Er..what is it we're supposed to be looking at? There are a few things in there I wasn't really paying attention to before.
