The only Toronto property listed on the Westbank website is Mirvish Village and they just sold off Shangri-La hotel and retail space in downtown Vancouver tower to Brookfield. SEE: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/top...=1&batchservertelemetry=1&noservertelemetry=1

King Toronto is still there, under 'body of work'. You have to click 'load more'.

Still there, along with the 2024 completion! That webpage, therefore, smells past its due date. In any case, Allied and Westbank gradually parted ways at Toronto House (19 Duncan), so is that what's happening here? Maybe Westbank's ownership is down to a fraction of what they once held at this site?

Does @AHK have more detail on this divorce?

Toronto is such a small market for Westbank, as they have a lot of projects going on in BC, Washington state, and California.
KING Toronto is their only active development under construction* with no other future projects in the pipeline. It seems like they want to focus their operations on the West Coast, where they have a number of large-scale developments being built there (not to mention the growing debts they and most developers are facing right now). Sadly, Toronto is a difficult market, and the market here is not ready for more innovative, quality, high-end residential projects on a larger scale, especially with how expensive things are here.

As a purchaser in this building and plan to make this my next home, I was saddened by the news and concerned that the building may be scaled back and will lose many of the signature details that make a Westbank building special. The building does have a significantly large percentage of buyers who are end users, including Sir Elton, and one of the PH buyers who bought and combined two of the PH units on the East Mountain which made the news as setting a price record at the time, so it will be interesting how Allied will deal with the purchasers here. About 95% of the building has been sold and sales of the remaining units were put on hold for a while and won’t be released until close to completion.

I’m hoping this will not be a Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and a goodbye to the one-of-a-kind Fazioli piano Elton John designed for the lobby —a trademark on every Westbank building.

* correction, Westbank also has Mirvish Village under construction in Toronto.

The website hasn’t been updated, and the sales office has been closed for a while — it was across the street, but it’s now being used as their management office. I’m sure if you wanted to buy one of the remaining penthouses, they could make that happen.😉
