A little premature perhaps, but has there been any word on retail tenants for the base? The heritage building used to have a bunch of small businesses (and a Starbucks). It would be nice if the store sizes remained manageable for a small business to afford to lease. If they're going to be these large spaces that only banks and international chains can occupy, it's really going to kill the vibe of the street that was there before.

The rendering does seem to show individual shops in the brick building though the glass building on the right is slated to become a 2 story flagship for the well-known international brand POSONBYS.

They have announced that the basement level has been leased by someone well known.

More well known than POSONBYS?

.. and wait, there's a basement? Might be a little too far across Wellington but it would've been great to have connected KING to The Well which itself is across from the future Spadina GO station which would've given PATH access to a transportation hub from King West.

There is..........and a supermarket is what is contemplated there.

I may be thinking too much into this but there appears to be a breakaway wall exactly where you'd expect a future underground PATH to connect to The Well:

The opening in the south wall (the breakaway wall section) is for parking and service access to the future development of the Park Retirement Residence building, 462 Wellington Street West via King Toronto's driveway ramp and parking garage, not from Wellington Street. Sorry - not for any future The Well connection.

Isn’t it the clothing brand from GTA 5? 😄

...I don't think winter shots of this development are going to make this heat go away. >.<

Wednesday Afternoon - June 25.

After several weeks of cladding installation activities taking place primarily within the courtyard areas, with minimal visibility from outside the site, activities moved this afternoon to the north-west corner of the building where several cladding sections have been installed for the next level up beside the driveway ramp.

Hopefully more to follow. While cladding progress has previously been delayed by lack of product, manufacturing of the sections appears to have picked up in speed. At the end of last week there were almost thirty skids of cladding sections being stored visibly around the building, waiting on installation.

June 26 - Ongoing installation of cladding sections - from what can be seen today, this appears to be the best yet in terms of the number of sections installed in one day - looks like eight new sections since yesterday.

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man!

– Elton John
