Feb 8 is nearly exactly 2 months away. Let's see some major progress before then.
Is it nearly or exactly? Significance?

"Comfortable" apparently meant Feb 8 on Dec 5. Now that the TTC has seen the reception Line 6 has received, I wonder what date "comfortable" means now
[citation needed]They have zero care or understanding of optics or marketing or anything. All they care about are their employees and appeasing the union.
If this were the case, they'd have the happiest employees in the world. LOL There is a morale problem that most people don't see.All they care about are their employees and appeasing the union.
K-W has the flashing stop bar indicating that the signal is about to change to green. We suck when we can't even figure transit signals out...
Thought I'd start out with a beautiful photo of a "loop detector"/Induction loop (Wiki):

If Lines 5/6 were meant to be anything other than streetcar lines in the open sections, we should've had four-aspect transit signals...

This is only where full priority exists, eg. how Toronto intersections are fully signalized.
Operators are given the ball to provide eight-seconds notice that they've been acknowledged, before the five-second red-yellow phase. They're provided with ~13-seconds notice to adjust their speed before the signal changes to green.
Otherwise you have these, when conflicting interactions are given a cautionary yield.

nearly, means they have 60 days to fix whatever they have toIs it nearly or exactly? Significance?
That's a very City of Toronto - we will request a plan/staff report (from the very people/organization who oversaw this debacle). In this town, it's meaningless - the true measure of progress is actual outcome, not what's on a piece of paper.
And in case this isn't cynical enough, wait till you see the amendments after the round of inevitable speechmaking by the councillors.

In addition, how can we even trust the people and organization who are going to be writing this staff report? They'll just cook the staff report and say everything is fine and dandy and there are no improvements necessary; all our streetcar operations policies are world class and produce safe movement. Case closed.
What needs to happen is a third party review of all the streetcar operations policies. This way the TTC can't hide their dirt (eg. remember the SRT derailment: TTC says everything is fine and dandy, nothing to see here folks.).
It's clear that no one was emphasizing a customer centric mindset. Giant box ticking exercise...The impression I get as a rider is that no one cared about what mattered - speed, reliability, convenience, cleanliness.

The TTC adverts on the Allen are so mind-bogglingly tone-deaf.If I can be crude, the mindset seems to have gone from you are riding the TTC because it is superior in performance to you are riding the TTC because you have no option so suck it up.

Heard from the grape veins, no opening date will be announced this year, will be announced in the new year IF / ASSUMING TTC is satisfied... here goes another year waiting for an opening date lol
If you are referring to signal priority and bringing speeds up to normal levels when opening that will likely take months if not years... no point holding our breath for that. Rather have the line open and then MTO/City/Metrolinx/TTC and other partners figure out the speed. At this point, does it really matter if they announce it within the next 19 days? After the debacle of Line 6, they should have at the very least a plan to address the issues in place before opening.
