How I wish this station had ended up like Bijlmer station in Amsterdam:

Ironically, the firm that designed this station in Amsterdam also designed the Vaughn Metropolitan Station for the TTC...

I was walking by today and the workers with the stop and slow signs were having a grand old time as the water truck, soaking the street, stopped to turn around and gave them all a good "misting" of cold water.

I also noticed they have a little site map posted as well.

What is the most recent estimate for getting the third track laid and operational? Is that the barrier to increasing service levels on Lakeshore? Presumably not, because they have no issues with every 15 minute service during rush hour and weekends.

we went through that on the go construction thread.
Technically possible, but mx probably wont be able to open the 3rd track until mid next year.

The stairs between doors 222 & 223 looks like the U-shaped foundation you can see in Kotsy's photos of Aug 10th (up the page). So presumably there will be a second set of stairs roughly where the N track is now once they build the south platform.

I stumbled upon these early conceptual renderings and was transported into a universe outside of Toronto.

The quality of these are so good it had me thinking this could be the latest iteration.

The street-presence, the warmth, and the architecture, suitable for this kind of station was too good to be true though.

Without getting too cynical, the effort put out by the team working on the latest renders and public engagement is doing an awful job, leaving people to grasp at straws at what their tax dollars will look like upon completion.

The current renders for this station, but for others across the Ontario Line are car-oriented, windshield views that don’t give an appropriate sense of place. The “updated” changes to Gerrard Station is a great example of these nasty, fuzzy images. Plus, the quality of the colors, lighting, and texture are bottom of the barrel.

Example:

Metrolinx
90% road, 10% station

On that note, I refuse to believe the last available renders for East Harbour are indicative of the final design.

I’m pensively awaiting the turnaround where the massing we see now will be detailed with materials and finesse to align with what we see on other Ontario Line stations to the West.
