It's been bothering me that there are a couple of white balcony sections missing from the middle of the top leaf on the south tower! At first I thought it was part of the design, but it doesn't look like that in the rendering. The top leaf of the north tower appears to be missing one too.

I just noticed the new Skydome advertising billboard in the foreground..

Some pictures from various points on the harbourfront this evening:

Like it or not this edifice adds some oomph to the skyline.
I don’t think it does at all. Just fills in space. …Oomph” compared to where? Looks like there’s a big spill stain on exterior & it doesn’t look intentional. Yikes. Wasn’t there supposed to be colour, art markings on both sides of building. Where’d that go? It’s the only thing positive I took from this mostly generic looking building.

Stands out in what, a sea of similar-looking towers? It's a tall poppy without the pop.

Standing out only reinforces the notion that this area could have been so much more. If there was ever an argument that design excellence should be a basic factor in developing the cityscape, this is it. Take the money and run.

July 3 - Concord Canada House occupancy is now well underway - finally. From the exterior the building looks quite finished, although the sidewalk is still hoarded off along Spadina, Bremner, and a south portion of Navy Wharf.

First, a photo of the overall building, then the main entrance front desk, followed by exterior areas showing signs of occupancy.

A family friend is a labourer for Reliance working on Canada House. We’re hearing from him that the plumbing contractor, who’s since gone bankrupt, made an absolute mess of this project. Leaks on nearly every floor, some minor and some major. Quite concerning with move in dates quickly approaching.
Little follow up from the same source: he was hoping to be off the job by now but the impacts of plumbing issues might have him stuck there another 2 years. The plumbers did a really poor job before jumping ship.

The long runs of influent water pipe experience axial expansion when pressurized, which have not been effectively restrained. When the complete system was pressurized there were many failures. They’ve since drained and smoke tested the pipes (actually they use a lavender scent as to not smoke out new apartments) and found even more leaks.

Somewhere between 10-25% of units have had keys given to owners (total move ins are probably closer to 10%). There’s also a major issue with AC so residents have had to put up with awful heat, water shutoffs, and water damages.
