In the alleyway behind the Dominion Building, what are those pipes into the ground? Is there going to be a water feature or is that for warming the ground for de-icing? Maybe they're temporary? The pipes rise up towards the road. I can't imagine that's going to stay in place.
I should have captured this better. Fire hose standpipe.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks for explaining. I guess there'll be a fire hydrant in that spot once the pipes are removed.

How did the alleyway look besides what can be seen here? I'm eager to see that space re-opened. It was a nice shortcut to the Esplanade from Union and it'll be an even nicer space once it's activated by the office tower. Toronto needs more of these pedestrian only back alleys.

No the pipes will start at the building wall and feed the sprinklers - when all is done. It will look like this, but nicer! :->

Had a look at the park. The little café hill is coming along. I could make out features that seem to confirm that it'll be at least partially covered in grass and/or surrounded by trees. The depression in the ground has drainage so it'll be filled with soil and the scaffolding makes up a hill. There are sections that appear to be prepped for silva cells that are sitting on-site awaiting installation.
