They are cutting and laying paving stones on the east and south sides today and the west side just needs the corner done and some finishing touches.

I would not be surprised if some of these sidewalks are ready to go in a week.

I know a lot of folks expressed concern of the massing being more chonky then they would like it...I mean the place is a town's worth residents piled into a block, as well as the materials used. But I am going to state there's something I really like about this as the elements keep things interesting here. And as well, this does circles around Time and Space...so for me if one is going to be overly chonky in their development, this is how it should be done. Thumbs way up for me on this one!

The sidewalk on Cherry is still completely blocked off here. Kind of alarming to see the amount of people just walking in the road next to traffic.....

whats going on with the south side? why havent they poured curbs and sidewalks and created new loading access to those existing buildings? is that a ROW limit? can they actually not touch that private land? if not, that sucks

There are buildings on the south side that have their own lane there and a parking garage entrance/exit. Also, the empty warehouse right beside it has had CoT signage up for a long while about a hotel.

I really wish they had used the same interlocking brick they used on the sidewalks for the lane instead of asphalt. Ah well.

Was actually eyeballing this today, trying to discern what they’re doing to keep the two lanes distinct

Because the IQ of a person once they get behind the wheel of a car drops about 100pts (no really. If you make the extension of your body a 2 ton cube, there’s not a lot of physical or mental agility you can function with. It’s like cutting hair with oven mitts on, you’re forced to operate bluntly, and with cars it’s fast. Go. Stop.) so you just know there’s going to be six levels of idiocy between these two roads.

You just know the Mill st buildings are going to be complaining about the traffic on that road and the confused drivers struggling to reverse out of their driveway. Anyone know if it’s one way?

Im not surprised by the folks walking on the road along Cherry (that’s dangerous but also the agility of being a pedestrian) because this operation has f’d up the sidewalks around this whole block for half a decade. I’m disgusted that the private developer just gets to keep the south side of Front street closed for this long while slow walking development.

All the sidewalks around 90 Mill Street are done and you can walk freely. I even walked down a short path and snapped a shot of their parking garage.

Edit: I saw people going into the building and meet with a person in there. I got the impression they were applying for jobs. My guess is rental office staff.

There are a bunch of possibilities with the property line, like merging the lanes together but the other buildings or Cherry House didn't want to.

With closer inspection, the older lane is not level and gradually slopes up and down all along it like a wave.

In some parts, the new lane is easily a foot higher and in other parts it's half that or even level...
