Our pocketbooks would whine. You can build it west to square one elevated and we won’t whine.

But they're not whining about the Scarborough subway or the Yonge North extension? Our pocketbooks would whine.
At least with HLRT being built, it will give the BD line a good connection that will have people funnel onto it as a potential. But they're not whining about the Scarborough subway or the Yonge North extension?
I think the idea of extending the BD line to Square One, just like all other suburban subway extensions, is a horrendous idea. But fair is fair, and the precedent has been set (or, if you prefer, Pandora's box has been opened): if projects like the Spadina extension, Scarborough Subway, and North Yonge extension have/are happening, there are no legitimate grounds to deny Mississauga, or for this to be where we draw the line.
Why would people use BD from HLRT when Milton would get you there faster? At least with HLRT being built, it will give the BD line a good connection that will have people funnel onto it as a potential.
Now if they could do something about that Sheppard stub line...
Last I checked, the Milton line is not frequent, and not bidirectional. So, lets say you worked in Mississauga and lived in Etobicoke, good luck with the Milton Line. Why would people use BD from HLRT when Milton would get you there faster?
I live in Mississauga and work in etobicoke. Yup Milton line is pretty useless to me. I mean I’d like it upgraded but a subway would be better.Last I checked, the Milton line is not frequent, and not bidirectional. Anyone touting the Milton line forgets what a subway is for.I live in Mississauga and work in etobicoke. Yup Milton line is pretty useless to me. I mean I’d like it upgraded but a subway would be better.
I assume that you have the credentials to speak for all of the residents of Mississauga? I imagine they won't be as enthusiastic. You can build it west to square one elevated and we won’t whine.
Last I checked, BD/Line 2 to Mississauga doesn't exist. For the expense of building it, we can upgrade Milton Line. If you're trying to get to Etobicoke yes you want something frequent but you also want something fast.Last I checked, the Milton line is not frequent, and not bidirectional. Subway would be very slow.I live in Mississauga and work in etobicoke. Yup Milton line is pretty useless to me. I mean I’d like it upgraded but a subway would be better.
I think most people think it's for paying $3 instead of $7 for their transit trip.Anyone touting the Milton line forgets what a subway is for.
Not necessarily. Maybe you don’t need to go all the way downtown. Maybe you like the connectivity of the TTC versus the GO. (That Kipling transfer is a nightmare and it alone adds at least 5 minutes to your trip) Maybe you’re sceptical that the Milton line will ever be all day.Last I checked, BD/Line 2 to Mississauga doesn't exist. In AM peak (and PM peak) heading west on Line 2 from Kennedy you see a lot of people getting off before Broadview. I see no reason that you wouldn't see the same on the west side. Not necessarily. With all the GO train lines, why not just shut down all subway lines? That is exactly what your response sounds like.Last I checked, BD/Line 2 to Mississauga doesn't exist. Hey York region. You have a subway to Vaughan and you’re getting one to Richmond Hill. I think you can let others get some of the pie too.I assume that you have the credentials to speak for all of the residents of Mississauga? I imagine they won't be as enthusiastic.
I feel they might get one to Markham before one goes to Mississauga, unless you count the western extension of Eglinton.Hey York region. You have a subway to Vaughan and you’re getting one to Richmond Hill. I think you can let others get some of the pie too.
Ontario Line north. I don’t doubt this will be a thing.I feel they might get one to Markham before one goes to Mississauga, unless you count the western extension of Eglinton.
