I was wondering the same thing about falcon, but like someone mentioned on that thread, the average non building construction geek might not be aware of a coming second building.363 units? Decent number to fill.
Switch and Falcon are both closer to 250. Interested to see how quick this fills. I wonder if the park/phase 2 constructions scares some off for noise?
Downtown and West End Vancouver also largely function as a resort. But if you would like to benchmark our downtown against Calgary, Hamilton, Ottawa or Winnipeg I will absolutely listen to you.It does look decent. Definitely need more ground level commercial.
Downtown could also do with a general street level face-lift. Just coming back from Vancouver and it's a light year ahead of Edmonton for public spaces that are not awkward concrete modern "art"
Yes a resort and those many of those high rises are a vertical gated community for wealth expats and retirees. Vancouver has very hard physical constraints (mountains and water) that lead to much more density than elsewhere and a climate unlike most other places in Canada, but other than a very long list of all those differences, yeah we could be similar.Downtown and West End Vancouver also largely function as a resort. I like the park idea but I can't help but wonder if it'll become a hangout for homeless and drug deals ?![]()
First mixed-use residential tower bordering Warehouse Park ready for tenants
The first major development has gone up downtown spurred by the creation of Warehouse Park.www.ctvnews.ca
Vote for people who want to support rehab facilities AND hefty mandatory minimums for drug dealing and it might not be a problem.I like the park idea but I can't help but wonder if it'll become a hangout for homeless and drug deals ?![]()
I'm not going to vote for people who continously put these facilities on the northeast side of the city.Vote for people who want to support rehab facilities AND hefty mandatory minimums for drug dealing and it might not be a problem.
New builds like this and public amenities like warehouse park will contribute toward increased economic activity and foot traffic in this area. That will serve to deter shady activity in this area and will help legitimate businesses to thrive. Empty parking lots on the other hand...I like the park idea but I can't help but wonder if it'll become a hangout for homeless and drug deals ?![]()
