The agencies just need to realize this is the new status quo- it’s the kind of practice that takes time to change. But by having fare integration at all, that conversation can actually start. Maybe it’s the first step to bringing the agencies closer together operationally.
Like many things the union will break it, they considered allowing Mississauga busses to allow drop off and pickups along burnhamthorpe since it would mean significantly better service since the TTC service is much less frequent and the union voted NO!

Im curious as to what impresses you. If there wasnt a premier like Ford do you think there wouldnt be other premiers commitd to transit and infrastructure. Do you not think that a city's natural progression and state building does not have infrastructure demanded for it.

Reading what youre implying makes it seem like Doug Ford and his team magically came up with the idea of infrastructure
Not that they magically came up with the idea, just that they are actually committed to investing in it. I have lived in this province for 60 years and seen lots of premiers from different parties, none of whom actually put the dollars into infrastructure like Ford has.

I will be more direct. Yes, I do think that the city's natural progression and state of building has infrastructure demanded for it. However, NO, those demands would absolutely NOT have been met. Steven Del Duca was Minister of Transportation. He built close to NOTHING. He just talked about debates, and danced around in interviews without committing to anything. Ever since Mike Harris, all we added to the subway system was an extension to Vaughan. Without Ford, we *maybe* would have a DRL still awaiting construction to start, a one stop Scarborough subway cancelled for a new debate, and the buck would stop there.

Given everything else that’s been promised suspiciously close to the election, Sheppard seems like a slam dunk funding bet when the dust settles.

Though they haven't made any commitments towards Sheppard West.
Building the Sheppard East subway extension to connect with the Scarborough Subway Extension at Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road.

From a Metrolinx recruitment event today - note the drawing for Line 4. Is this potential indication that an eastward-only extension has been preferred and the interchange with Line 2 would be at Sheppard/McCowan?

If not complete fantasy, the transit enthusiast in me would love to see a Kipling to VMC service via Sheppard and Downtown.

I will note that the publicly announced extension of the Hurontario LRT does not appear on this map, nor does Bolton GO, nor does the Mid Town GO concept etc. etc.

Infer as you will.
