...or someone like Miller going postal in Oval Office during a critical meeting, as I can see that happening.

(Such pleasant people we are when our conversations are entertaining this because the way things have become. >.< )

Or convert it into a public Museum of Autocracy, Greed and Anger (MAGA). Heck, put up a giant neon MAGA sign on the side of the ballroom. Make it an modern-day American analogue to the holocaust museum in Auschwitz - a solemn place of mourning, a ground zero for where it all happened.

I wouldn't hold my breath though that the next change of administration or many changes of administration that follow will bring a significant change in course for the American political system.
It'll likelier be the whole WH site that becomes a solemn place of warning, should its present-day occupants decide to go Branch Davidian.

I see Loomer as more likely to commit such an act than Miller. But in any event, it might all be once Trump kicks the bucket and a certain, shall we say, reality sinks in--including the reality of the madness within...

Well I guess we should create more ads. Do them enough and the old man might just get a coronary.
I say the next ad should just read the excerpts from the US Constitution. Word for word. Once the US Supreme Court rules that quoting the constitution is unconstitutional, we should switch tactics. At that point we should just quote their Declaration of Independence and all the reasons they dissed their king back then:

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent.

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments

He is … totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us

And slapping more tariffs on us is punishing America...

I hope that Ford will capitalize on the firestorm that he is at the center of. He should go on a US media blitz to attack Trump by stressing to the American public these points:

  • Tariffs are import TAXES, the cost of which is borne primarily by the American consumer and American importer. Since when did Republicans become big proponents of imposing TAXES?
  • Trump lied to Americans when he told them repeatedly that tariffs are paid by the exporting countries, and he continues to lie every time he boasts about the billions and billions he is bringing in.
  • Trump lies to Americans because he is a conman and has been a conman his entire life. He lies to Americans because he thinks the average American is stupid. He has nothing but contempt for working-class Americans. You are worth nothing to Trump unless you have at least one billion dollars in the bank.
  • Canada is America's biggest EXPORT market. Canada buys more US goods and services than any other country, more than China, Japan, the UK, and France COMBINED. ALMOST HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS! The US has a significant surplus in the trade of finished goods and services with Canada, including a $7 billion surplus in the trade of cars and car parts.
  • If the US won't buy our cars, we will not buy ANY of their cars. We will buy from China, which makes better, more affordable cars
  • Canada spent $13 billion in 2008 to help bail out GM & Chrysler. Could the Detroit Big Three exist without Canada? The US could be left without any American-owned car companies
  • Trump's imposition of tariffs is largely unconstitutional. The power to set taxes rests with Congress. Trump has usurped the power of Congress because tariffs are central to Trump's corrupt "pay to play" scheme that has seen countries and companies lining up to curry favor with him by showering him with money. Americans have elected the most corrupt president in history
  • What Trump is doing to Canada should serve as a lesson to every other country in the World. Trump does not honor any written agreement he signs. Trump negotiated and signed the USMCA treaty in his first term. In his second term, Trump promptly tore it up. This is how Trump has operated his entire adult life. Back when he was building Towers, he was famous for stiffing contractors. Trump has always been dishonorable and untrustworthy, and those are some of his better qualities.
  • Canada supplies the US over 5 million barrels of oil a day at steep discounts - up to $30 less compared to the Brent benchmark. Not only does this keep gas prices low at American pumps, but it also allows the US to export its sweet crude to the world. US oil exports are its biggest single export. Without Canadian oil, the US balance of trade with the world would be even worse.
  • Trump's rationale for imposing his first 25% tariff on Canada was completely bogus, A BIG FAT LIE! Canada is not a major source of fentanyl entering the US. The amounts are infinitesimal. Likewise, Canada is not a major source of undocumented migrants. The claims are almost laughable.
  • Canada is the single most important security partner for the United States by virtue of our geography and NORAD alliance that, for almost 70 years, has shielded the continental United States from Soviet/Russian ICBMs.
Imagine if just half of the above talking points could get across to the American public. They have not heard any of this before, and I believe that when they hear this, many Americans will reconsider their opinion of Trump. We are past the point of being able to negotiate with Trump. Our best hope is to create a backlash against Trump, which we could do with proper messaging.

The Joe Rogan show would be the perfect venue for Ford to get across these points in a 2-hour interview.

Firestorm? Maybe for the perpetually online, but for the vast majority of Americans, they don't care about some political ad. The post is way too long and complicated for the majority of voters. They don't care. The only thing that will make them care about tariffs is if everything is incredibly more expensive at midterm elections time.

In that sense, best thing to do in my opinion is to let him pile on the tariffs. If he proposes 10% we should be calling him until he goes to 20%. Let them come, because eventually the ones who absorb the cost will be Americans, and then the will care, and then the Republicans will feel some pain.

Indeed.

Personally I'd love to see a 200% export tarriff on all US bound products just prior to the midterm.

Subsequently, Trump would likely another 200% reciprocal tarriff for a total of 400%.

Watch how quickly people would vote against the GOP.

We are already starting to see some anger with the GOP because of the shutdown. I do believe that a reckoning is coming.
