Given the drastic way they're going about things, who knows if they're going to hit a gas line and accidentally blow the rest of the WH up.

I think this Trump Ballroom is going to annoy Democrats and liberal minded folks for decades. These folks have been gritting their teeth, convincing themselves that they can wait out Trump’s administration and then things would return to normal, that they can forget this time. But now there’s a permanent reminder.

There are many long-term reminders. I know a lot of rational Americans, some of them family, and only one has ever said "wait it out". The others all know that whatever happens, the fallout will be around for a long time to come. I also know some MAGAs who say the images are AI or devolve into unrelated whataboutism.

Or convert it into a public Museum of Autocracy, Greed and Anger (MAGA). Heck, put up a giant neon MAGA sign on the side of the ballroom. Make it an modern-day American analogue to the holocaust museum in Auschwitz - a solemn place of mourning, a ground zero for where it all happened.

I wouldn't hold my breath though that the next change of administration or many changes of administration that follow will bring a significant change in course for the American political system.
