Stephen Miller is evil incarnatr.
This entire administration is evil and/or dangerous. Following on the heels of the sham of the Alien Enemies Act because the US is 'under attack' by an immigrant army apparently, suspension of Habeas Corpus against immigrants is just the thin edge. If allowed to continue, we may hear about US citizens, perhaps even political rivals, simply disappearing (like what happens in his favourite country). They have such distain for the other branches of government - Congress and the judiciary - that it is concerning.

BTW, have we seen the nominee for Surgeon General: Casey Means. She calls herself a Doctor; she did graduate from medical school but never interned or otherwise practiced. She is an Internet influencer selling health supplements.

On another medical front, Texas is apparently seeing increased hospitalization of kids with Vitamin A toxicity after RFK Jr. touted it as a cure for Measles. Apparently some counties in that state don't even have a public health unit.

A country of immigrants … angry at immigrants. Especially those of colour. https://apple.news/A06h1LXLITvGxuQVxKsaIpA

Means did enter (but did not finish) residency as an ENT surgeon. She has no board certifications and does not practice medicine. I agree she does not seem qualified for the position of Surgeon General.

For context, here is that Executive Order:

It seems his concern about how a particular government treats a segment of its population varies with the government and population involved. I was curious why South Africa became a focus of his attention, and it seems it has the temerity to have foreign policy positions that differ from those of the US. The nerve.

It seems everything is a "threat to national security" these days.

Several Trump backers are white South Africans. Musk and David Saks, among others.

According to S&P Global, U.S. stock market capitalization declined 6.0% from December 2024 to April 2025, weighed down by economic uncertainty and trade tensions that hit big tech stocks particularly hard. In contrast, global markets posted strong gains, with Spain (+24.3%), Germany (+20.6%), Brazil (+20.4%), Mexico (+18.6%), Italy (+16.9%), Sweden (+14.9%), the EU (+14.6%), and Switzerland (+14.0%) leading the rebound.

Trump administration poised to accept 'palace in the sky' as a gift for Trump from Qatar: Sources

In what may be the most valuable gift ever extended to the United States from a foreign government, the Trump administration is preparing to accept a super luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar -- a gift that is to be available for use by President Donald Trump as the new Air Force One until shortly before he leaves office, at which time ownership of the plane will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation, sources familiar with the proposed arrangement told ABC News.

The gift had been expected to be announced next week, when Trump visits Qatar on the first foreign trip of his second term, according to sources familiar with the plans. But a senior White House official said the gift will not be presented or gifted while the president is in Qatar this week.

Trump toured the plane, which is so opulently configured it is known as "a flying palace," while it was parked at the West Palm Beach International Airport in February.

Apparently this requires Congressional approval (accepting a gift). Also, if it were to replace Air Force One, how much will it cost to secure it to all of the safety and anti-espionage requirements?
There's a lot of proprietary tech on both Boeing VC-25 ('Air Force One') presidential aircraft. It would be interesting to know how easy it is to add it post-production (and stripping out again after it becomes a book shelf or whatever it is expected that a library foundation would do with it). DOD would also want to make sure there isn't any other 'easter eggs' on board they don't want.

Of course Congress will approve it. It is little more than his fan club.

White South Africans have also been an obsession with people on the fringe right (you know, the people who we called the "alt-right" when Trump first ran, but now we just call "Republicans") because it fits with their tropes about black people being a threat to white people.
