With everything else on the culture war table, sexphobes are looking for a cut too...

/sigh
Republican Senators feel empowered to introduce all sorts of Bills, including repealing the 22nd Amendment (presidential term limits). I suppose it works both ways but MAGA and Project 2025 have an 'interesting' agenda.

I note in the article that the Project's definition of "pornography" seems rather narrow:

"Project 2025 defines pornography as the “omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children"

^I don't even understand how folks expect to "entertain" themselves over propaganda of any sort, as that's not the narrative and goal of the same. So it would make more sense to call it trans porn as that's a real and popular thing and has been around as long as I can remember. Not that it would convert bathroom senators into she-males for example by that claim or anything...

...that said, and with the latter part in their tripping over to "think of the children", there's already laws in the books that deals with that gross stuff. And have been there as far as I can remember.as well, so they not saying anything new here. Just using this an excuse for the state in intrude into the bedrooms of their nation.

Getting back to the first part, their rabid hatred for trans folks even has this added here. I wouldn't know what it would be like living under such intense scrutiny by the state as trans beyond being awful. And I really hope this shite doesn't come up here. /bleh

Meanwhile, according to Mike Lee, historically accurate performances of Shakespeare plays must be pornographic because boys dressed in drag to play as female characters.

^…and we think this is somehow funny?
Taco Bell's ad was clearly making a dig in there Run for the Border ads, so they must think it’s funny. And calm your knickers, these aren’t refugees fleeing genocide, but are economic migrants who’ve fled their own country after it went to sh#t. All that aside, I’d welcome many Venezuelans, as they’re often skilled trades and construction workers, something Canada desperately needs.

And calm your knickers,...
...and yet it's your undies that seem to be in the twist that you needed to post that here.

..these aren’t refugees fleeing genocide...
...that doesn't matter.

And either way, I don't see the humour here, because this is horrifying. People who are minding their business and getting on with life are suddenly upended and thrown to the ICE wolves because their on-the-take SCOTUS agrees with that ignorant racist dotard running their country. Sorry if I can't find anything funny about that. /shrug

Fair enough, and I’ll agree it is horrifying how the US has quickly turned. It is remarkable how many citizens of Latin American origin, including of Venezuelan descent voted for Trump. They never thought their relatives and community could be seen as the “other”. In a dark humour way, that is funny, and sad.

I am going to suspect that many (if not all) who will be effected by this weren't granted the permission to vote. So I am not sure the "I told you so" really applies here...
