Great to have this project for Jasper Ave. Even with, that stretch between 114-116st (especially the southside) is a vibrancy killer. You can add 113-114st on the northside.
I am generally skeptical about sidewalk improvements leading to development, but I could actually see it in this area.

Yes, the car wash, the half closed old car dealership and the Emerald abandoned lot really bring the area down but all around it is an otherwise fairly vibrant area.

So hopefully someone will figure that out soon and it will start to improve.
 
Construction work has shifted from the northside to the southside between east of 116 St to 117 St. I'm hoping the rest of it (from 114 St to east of 116 St) shifts by next weekend.

I definitely appreciate the work going on. Pics, however, reminds me what a mish-mash of buildings along this section of Jasper Ave - from 114-116st. I'm not saying buildings need to all look the same but what has been built over different periods of time kind looks like a dog's breakfast on the north side and not what belongs on a mainstreet - and that's the better side right now.
