I gotta say, this is worth the pain to restore our Main Street to something nice.

May be some debate that the light standards (top left corner) are not 100% stylistically compatible with the building but in general the appearance is first class. The treatment of the tree wells is a good upgrade from the steel grates often seen elsewhere.

I quite like how the 109-113 section has turned out thus far. Most of the trees have taken root and are healthy and growing. And I really like how some of these planters have turned out. Great choice of shrubs and grasses and they are healthy, growing and being kept in a neat and tidy state.

Having said that, some are at the other end of the spectrum. They look like crap and are in desparate need of some TLC.

And aren't the light poles supposed to have some banners on them? All of the poles have four horizontal extensions that look like a banner should be attached, but no banners on any of them. A colorful and nicely designed banner would add so much.

The light post in the foreground is much better than the one across the street. It fits in well and looks good when it's fixed with banners.

I hope the trees do ok, particularly in stretches of hot and dry weather like now and attention is paid if they need water. They look like they have a good amount of space to grow, the posts will nice good when banners are put in.

To be honest, new widened sidewalks and a freshly paved street was all I was looking for, the entire avenue could have been done by now. The forming of benches and planters and other decorative widgets are why it is taking so long.

Can someone tell the city to stop trying to reinvent the wheel? Lets get those streets done so we can focus on the important part of getting vacant lots filled.

guessing they won't make it to 121st this construction season. at this rate it's going to take another 4 years.
Easy to understand why business owners get upset over the slow pace of work. Only a crew or maybe two working and lots of equipment sitting idle. Business owners should be entitled to some form of monetary compensation when work isn't completed as promptly as reasonably possible.
