The Ethiopian/Eritrean place on 116 St and 102 Ave has now been open for a couple weeks. I haven't eaten there yet, but it does look good!
Any sign that they're doing anything with their patio?

Update: Went there last night on a bicycle date with the other half and it was awesome and they did in fact have their patio open.

Injera was extremely fluffy. My other half made a point to try as much Ethiopian as she could when she moved here, and she thinks they're one of the best in the city. We're going back on Friday with her folks.

Service is a little bit erratic. They were short staffed and clearly filling in with family members and figuring things out.

Opens May 12th. Pics show that typical Yankee indoor playhouse feel akin to Culinary Dropouts in Phoenix, the indoor turf, corn hole, ping pong etc. Food doesn't look too expensive, beer should be fine although I noticed they do NOT have a "Beer Cocktail" menu akin to Sea Change - sure fire way NOT to cater to the female crowd.

Btw, should be plenty of drunks getting run over along the dark stretch of 50th St until they hit #510 as they stumble home and get their cars the next day.......lol

So a few days ago, I spotted a bright orange facade on 118 Ave as the other half and I were returning from a Costco run. And I wondered, "Wait. Was that ALWAYS bright orange?" We took a wander back that way on foot and found that someone had just opened a new ice cream and bubble tea place called 'Dely's Flavours' at 12422 118 Ave (across from the Burger Baron), The ice cream flavours are interesting, with some nice punchy options like "ginger mint" and "cinnamon brew". Since they're a mere 15 minutes from Blatchford on foot, I'll probably be wandering down there regularly.

Inside, they've put a good bit of effort into fixing up the place to make it rather sharp. The bubble tea is still in the testing stages but will launch soon.

Has anyone been to the new Japanese Village near ICE District yet?
Yes, I have. I preferred the previous two DT iterations.

The new location feels much cheaper and low effort compared to those and WEM. No complaints about the food.

Bizarre but how many "100 best restaurants" lists are out there? Got to be at least half a dozen of these on the go...

Oh, the Mexican restaurant Juana Inés has soft opened at Manchester Square, and it is quite good. They're definitely taking full advantage of the patio friendly format of the space on the west corner of the square. They're offering a small portion of their menu at the moment, and their liquor license was a work in progress, but their food offerings were top notch.
