Would this upcoming announcement with Ford, Chow, and Surma have anything to do with the Eglinton Crosstown and/or the Finch West LRT?:

Would it kill them to put down a subject line for such announcements? I'm fully expecting them to announce that they will have a formal announcement on the opening of the lines in another 2 weeks!

I would assume any additional information in the press invite would negate the need for the for the actual public announcement. Guess one just needs patience young grasshopper. 😁

the few times a month I pass by finch I recently saw 3 smith and long vans at the intersection with the 400, the entire stretch between Kipling and Islington is down to 1 lane as well for I’m assuming sewer related work. How will they even do 3 months of testing when there is so much corrective work going on?

Ontario begins construction of new GO Transit station – June 26, 2025

At the 50 second mark, a remark that the Woodbine GO Station will connect with a Finch West Line 6 extension.

If one gets built indeed, and it ought to be one of the few projects that happens no matter what because its short and on the surface -> Cheap

Apparently the TOD is designed to allow the line to route through it instead of continuing right on Hwy 27, which is nice.

I'm very curious how the government envisions extending from this GO station to Pearson...
The UPX already runs beside it. There is no UPX station in the neighbourhood... at the moment. Line 6 however could run to the Pearson Transit Hub in the future. (The current Etobicoke North GO Station is being replaced by the Woodbine GO Station.)

Presumably they'll figure that out around the same time they decide how to squeeze ECWE in there... in the meantime, I guess transfer and hope there are inbound seats on UPX?

Has anyone heard when that path under the CP (or CPKC) rail corridor is expected to be done? It would be a shame to have this gap linger for the foreseeable future.
Great question ^^^ That path's construction shows no sign of construction work. Is there a problem about starting this work? Permits, technical/engineering limitations, funding? It makes no sense.

The original TPAP for the Woodbine GO station indicated that there is no immediate intention to build a UP platform, so UP will not serve Finch. I suppose that may have changed.
