As a 15+ year resident of the area, the reasons for this sentiment are many. I don't have time to list them.

Laderdach is opening on Bloor Street; I assume they're going into the 110 Bloor Street empty space.

I also don't have evidence, but my spidey sense is that Gucci is expanding elsewhere on the street (100 Bloor former Holts space is leased, but don't know by who, they decided NOT to expand next door, the Yorkdale store will be 12SF even though Bloor is considered the flagship).

Very interesting re 100 Bloor. However, Gucci is not expanding at Yorkdale Mall.

They’re opening a 12k sf store in the wing that used to have Michelle’s Baguette and Bikini Village which was repurposed for luxury (my how times have changed)!

Good *expletive* riddance. Fun fact: the BIA threatened to sue me when I (factually) pointed out their longstanding opposition to the Bloor bike lanes between Avenue and Yonge on Twitter.

Briar was also a staunch ringleader against any pedestrianization efforts in Yorkville.

So, yeah, good job making your neighbourhood worse for everyone (the business you represent, included) over the last quarter century!
