I do enjoy a good open-cut station. All that natural light really makes a difference.
Meh... many larger railroads have these open air platforms that are much larger than this single line. Beggars cant be choosersthat "open cut" is actually the underpass under the 407. That subway platform is going to be incredibly loud being open air and sitting below 10 lanes of freeway with cars doing 120-140km/h.
A Thank you to @eglinton1661 for sharing the renders.
The stations look dull, uninteresting and unoriginal inside and out.
well lets see what the final design drawings lead up to.
in the end beggards cant be choosers.
we need this line built asap and cant afford to dilly dally with individual aesthetic preferences
i just got off the go train at langstaff under the overpass and honestly if i wasnt paying specific attention to the cars above it doesnt bother me. people are just trying to head from a to b;
most wont care too much about an "enjoyable experience" anyways.
source of your evidence.I disagree entirely, I think the evidence shows that systems that care about good design, architecturally, aesthetically and in every other respect draw higher ridership/modal share when all other things are equal (catchment area, price, service frequency)
I disagree and I think the evidence shows otherwise.
