A quick shout-out to the first leg of the Valley Line... I drove along the line coming back downtown from the deep south yesterday and the landscaping along the line is just incredibly well done, in my opinion. Just top notch stuff and so much better than I would have ever expected. So far I'm hopeful that the west leg will hold up to that standard.

Maybe they could drop by the Downtown strip... it's been 100% ignored and forgotten.

The homeless sure do "love their trash piles." Create a trash pile out of nothing and then leave it there when they move looking to hunker down for their next "hit."

I'm not sure how much more landscaping could be done in the two blocks that exist downtown, especially since some folks who shall not be named keep insisting that 102 ave needs to be fully open for the 3 cars a day that use it. Close 102 to cars and you could have amazing landscaping, but I know that's a non-starter with car-centric folks like yourself ;-)

I know, but I'm thinking these kinds of things like garbage and picking up after themselves would not be top of mind when you are exhausted, weak, hungry, several intoxicated and so on. It is deflating to see and smell the decay in various areas of the downtown though as a result - which of course is a reflection of the amount of struggles out there.

That said, as I was going into a downtown apartment with my bike earlier this week, a guy in rough shape sitting on the ground by the entrance proceeds to get up as I'm trying to maneuvre my bike in and holds the door open for me and then headed off somewhere else.
