The Erindale stop is absurd and shouldn't be there. Just like the Jack Layton Way stop.
If that's what it's going to take for the TTC to learn their lesson in providing reliable, consistent, and proper service than so be it. For years they've gone under the assumption that riders are willing to take their consistent screw ups and delays, which just get worse every month. On a different note, Line 2 went down in morning rush hour again, from Broadview to Woodbine with a mechanical issue. This scuppered service from roughly 7:12am-8am.
The TTC is going to bleed massive numbers of riders if they can't run rush hour service vaguely consistently. This is literally 2 mornings this week with a shutdown.
In Poland, bus preservation is very common, compared to other places. Here I don’t think any transit fans in Toronto will even try to save a bus from scrap and restore it. Hence no GM/MCI Classics, Flyer D901s, NFI D40HFs, Orion IIIs, Orion Vs (with the exception of one), Novabus RTS and the NFI D40LFs were saved unfortunately.
What local routes? The only other routes there are 506 and 121 both of which have stops closer to the Gerrard stop than the Jack Layton stop. This may have had something to do with Bridgepoint and the connection to local routes.
I don't understand what you mean by one-time? Since when was there any pattern to streetcar arrivals and departures from a terminus? You can't even consistently tell when it's going to leave, when you do have the schedule. If you were on time that would not be an issue. It's not the fault of the 60 or so people on the streetcar that you were running late to catch it.
???Broadview Station is less than a 5 minute walk from Erindale. The only way you would miss the streetcar is if you originally missed it at Broadview Station and ran over to Erindale.
I'm inserting this "X" item again to show the BIG problem at this (and other station exits). There are no traffic signals nor yield signs. What local routes? The only other routes there are 506 and 121 both of which have stops closer to the Gerrard stop than the Jack Layton stop.

Broadview goes both north and south of Erindale. Erindale is NORTH of both Danforth and Broadview station. The 504/505 goes north from Broadview station to Erindale, west on Erindale, and then turns south on Broadview. If you head down Broadview from Pretoria you arrive at Erindale before you get to the station.
Every time I've used the Erindale stop, I've come from the direction of Pretoria, not from the station. When I get to the corner - about 5 metres from the stop, I can see if there are streetcars in the station or not. If there are, I wait there so that I don't miss it. If not, I walk to the station.
See the image showing which direction one walks to the station without missing it at Broadview Station.

The city, as usual, are lying through their teeth.Transportation Services says it is too close to Broadview & Danforth for traffic signals. Then how about streetcar yield signs, so the single-occupant SUV must yield the right-of-way to the 40 to 200+ people onboard the streetcar?
I was talking about buses and not streetcars which I would be aware ofThere are several heritage properties dealing with transportation and transit in the GTA, including an excellent TTC collection at Rockwood that has received considerable support and assistance from TTC.
Which one do you volunteer at? Which one have you paid for admission or made a donation to?
Foamers want everything preserved, by someone else.
- Paul.
Rockwood has buses. See https://hcry.org/collection/buses/I was talking about buses and not streetcars which I would be aware of
HCRR disposed most of their buses in the last few years btw. And I recall that TTC offered a Orion VII bus to the HCRR, but said no afterwards.
Ask the same question to foamers of Fishbowls, Orion VIIs, G1s & M1s, or trams, and I bet the majority's answer will be "none".There are several heritage properties dealing with transportation and transit in the GTA, including an excellent [sic] TTC collection at Rockwood that has received considerable support and assistance from TTC.

As do foamers of Fishbowls/VIIs/G1s/M1s/trams, and they got what they wanted. Because literally basically everything always is preserved "by someone else" (aka organizations with far greater resources & capabilities than individuals who have none of the above, and barely enough money to cover their own daily expenses), yet somehow saving one unique type of vehicle (among the dozens or hundreds of saved vehicles) is always where "they" draw the line.Foamers want everything preserved, by someone else.
Funny, I've always felt the exact same way, but you're off by 6 years, I've always felt the whole world going to shit since 2013. It's almost as if it was all a planned distraction...Now I’m not saying there’s a connection, but the whole world seems to have gone to shit soon after we got rid of these five years ago.
That's because there is no one there to maintain and champion the buses.HCRR disposed most of their buses in the last few years btw. And I recall that TTC offered a Orion VII bus to the HCRR, but said no afterwards.

Did you step up and fight for them? Because I don't remember you being around with those of us who tried. As do foamers of Fishbowls/VIIs/G1s/M1s/trams, and they got what they wanted. My answer is the same as 99.9% of the rest of the community, but the point is why does this scrutiny only apply to fans of certain vehicles but not others? And what did "those who tried" try, exactly? Did they really try to save a Hawker, and failed? HCRR has always saved plenty of vehicles decades before the Hawker retirement, and continued to do so long after the Hawkers were gone, so forgive me for not buying the excuse that of all things the Hawkers were the straw that broke the camel's back (as I've said before, I'll believe it when the T1s & TRs end up in the same situation). And what's your answer?

“Its a conspiracy” is getting tiring. My answer is the same as 99.9% of the rest of the community, but the point is why does this scrutiny only apply to fans of certain vehicles but not others? fwiw I did reach out to the organization that owns 5707 to try to establish some sort of contact with them, but since I never heard back there's not much more I can do.
Not as tiring as it is for me to keep seeing evidence of it coming true, and seeing them endlessly dragging their heels with every single step of the new train contract (deliberately stretching the delivery schedule to take as long as possible, as if it's not egregiously delayed already?? seriously!?)“Its a conspiracy” is getting tiring.
