Security incident at Finch station today. Police and SWAT were in scene.
Let's skip the American paramilitary terms. This is SWAT, with ex-military kit and the boys cosplaying GI Joe.

This is TPS's ETF. IMO, a much more professional and reasonably scaled and equipped unit.

So wtaf actually happened that was so bad that ETF had to be called in??

Not to make things more confusing, but note that the OPP equivalent is the TRU (Tactics and Rescue Unit) and the RCMP are ERT (Emergency Response Team).
Whereas SWAT = Special Weapons and Tactics. That moniker alone demonstrates how the Americans are all about the guns, while we Canadians are about emergency and rescue response.

Ironically, Some More News' weekly video spawned today, and it's all about the history of SWAT and police militarization.

In Europe and the UK, they have gendarmeries and armed response teams in their police departments

Anyone know what caused the L2 shutdown between Broadview & VP? Good day to bike for sure, seeing all the shuttle buses from the sidelines.

Ever stopped to think that they had way more subway cars than they needed work cars, and that's why not every class was represented in the work car fleet?
Also no, because that alone doesn't explain why they chose T1s rather than H5s or more H4s (or why some H4s were kept in storage till 2019–2021 before being converted but the H5s weren't). My explanation (as much as I hate it being true) explains it spot on, however.

The H3/4 are simpler and easier to maintain.

Apparently there was a trespasser on the tracks.

Broadview to VP was a signal issue at Woodbine Station.

That later expanded to St. George due to a second issue at Broadview, due to a trespasser on the tracks.
