The 509 and 510 closed into Union as well.

Edit to add: LOL. I went to their twitter feed to make sure I was right about this, and both of those lines are closed right now due to "weather conditions".

Perhaps next time they rebuild the power, they could add some spots further south ... similar how they re-added the crossovers.
This must be why. Last time there was a power off at Union, we had to get off at College too.
In spite of various arguments against having crossovers on both sides of every single station, this is definitely an argument in favor of same.

It's a 5-minute video of automobiles on the bus-only lane on Bay Street. The overhead signs may say they are "diamond lanes"...

...but it is not enforced.
I've lived in Toronto my entire life. Not ONCE have a seen the HOV lane on Dundas in Toronto or Mississauga enforced!

Agree and add Bay Street, as well King Street.

I havent even seen enforcement for motorists who drive in streetcar ROWs.

Literally last week there was a driver who was driving in the ROW on Spadina at 2am. The driver pulled up at a red light southbound on Spadina at Richmond, where conveniently a police cruiser was right next to him.

So logically you would think the police cruiser would pull the motorist over to enforce the laws right? Well, absolutely not. All the officers did (there were 2 in the cruiser) was honk at the driver repeatedly to get out of the ROW.

Good thing we pay TPS massive amounts of money to "enforce" whenever they feel like it, but if they dont feel like it they're just going sight seeing.

I can say I've seen multiple people pulled over on king street and even have photos.

The only ones I have seen pull over are the ones who run intersection illegally and nothing to do with the HOV. You have seen them but I haven't.

There's a lot less road on King that has rush-hour restrictions for non-TTC than there was before this "pilot". They put in the turn restrictions (which I've certainly seen enforced - but not enough). But removed much of the other restrictions - which have been there for decades, and I've never seen enforced.

What was particularly ludicrous, is that sometime in the 2010s they extended the streetcars and taxis only in the centre lane to 10 AM in the morning, and starting at 3 pm in the evening. But parking was still legal from 9 AM to 4 PM! 🤣

I'm not sure if these restrictions are still in place - these photos are from 2021; I don't walk there very much these days.

The TTC at this point might as well shut the entire system down.

Line 6 is down (of course it is)
Line 2 is down from Kipling to St George and Woodbine to Kennedy
Line 1 is down from Eglinton to Bloor
Line 1 is also having planned shutdown between St. George and St. Andrew

Why even bother running any trains? Just go home.

I happened to be on Line 2 when they decided to halt all trains at Woodbine. Then rather than have the shuttle busses enter the bus bay, they decided to force everyone OUTSIDE during the blizzard and line up around the block….snow blowing in to everyone faces, freezing…..on top of that no shuttle busses….just one bus every 15 mins. Complete disarray….elderly people struggling, children crying.

I mean why do people i this city put up with this third world system. Heck, there are public transport systems in the third world centuries ahead of Toronto.

Shameful. Took my 4.5 hours to get home…….

Would you rather be stuck in a powerless train?

This is kind of a rare magnitude of snowstorm. The TDSB cancelled school by 6pm this evening, with tentative warnings already happening at 2pm. It’s rare for them to do so with enough foreknowledge, and Environment Canada has already predicted up to 60cm total by morning light. Yesterday they were saying 10 to 15 centimeters.

More than a half a meter of snow dumped over 18 hours ain’t business as usual anywhere.
