I think you're right. Anyways, nice example of how a round earth doesn't translate exactly to a flat map.
The subway needs to be extended to Sherway Gardens (whish is south of Kipling) to resolve this definitively. It's really the only way.Cannot believe this discussion is still ongoing
It's the province (dating back from the days of Greg Sorbara and Jim Flaherty) who's had this consistent fetish of extending the subway system beyond Toronto's borders, not so much Toronto or the TTC.The TTC needs to stop "cucking" to other cities by building subways that extend beyond Toronto (eg. the proposed Yonge subway extension)
Just annex the 905 into the City of Toronto, and separate from the Province of Ontario to form the Province of Toronto. It's the province (dating back from the days of Greg Sorbara and Jim Flaherty) who's had this consistent fetish of extending the subway system beyond Toronto's borders, not so much Toronto or the TTC.
I wont get into the merits of whether it's right or wrong, but let's just say the reasons are always political.
Pretty sure that will make Doug Ford primer of Toronto while they’ll elect a new premier.Just annex the 905 into the City of Toronto, and separate from the Province of Ontario to form the Province of Toronto.![]()
The people in Vaughan and markham and Oakville etc would elect Ford to be the Premier of Toronto and we'd be back at square onePretty sure that will make Doug Ford primer of Toronto while they’ll elect a new premier.

That’s precisely the problem. The first four subway lines were build by the TTC in Toronto. Now they are being built by metrolinxTTC doesn't build subways, Metrolinx does. TTC operates and maintains whatever subways Metrolinx or Toronto council provides funding for them to do so.
This isn’t necessary a bad thing. That’s precisely the problem. The first four subway lines were build by the TTC in Toronto. Now they are being built by metrolinx
Nothings stops TTC building other new subway lines and stations if they choose to spend money that way. The only limits related to the Line 1 extension up Yonge, and the Line 2 extension to Sheppard. And perhaps a Line 4 east extension - I can't remember about that one. That’s precisely the problem. The first four subway lines were build by the TTC in Toronto. Now they are being built by metrolinx
Toronto's politicians get elected to represent the interests of their constituents, not others. You don't expect politicians out in Milton to worry about local issues in Sarnia, do you?TO politics are too bias for themselves while upholding favours to Torontoians.
That's is what I am upset about. The province is extorting the TTC to make them serve the interests of people in Vaughan etc etcYou have to extend the subway beyond the City's borders. Otherwise, the Province won't give you funding because there's no political gain for them.
