I still find it strange that the new cars are being delivered with poles. I understand why the early cars in this order had them as there were sections of the network that still used poles but surely all is now pan compatible and they are actually adjusting the overhead to make pans more efficient (and thus making poles useless and unusable).

TTC now has 40 out 60 new LRV's on their property with the unloading of 4643 today. 4632 will be off loaded next week.

4632 out for delivery at Lambton yard today.

I've always wondered.. How do they unload these streetcars at the yards? Do they have special rails that raise and make contact with the rails on the train or vehicle that transports them?

A special loading dock was constructed at the very south end of the Hillcrest facility. The dock is located at approximately the height of the rails on the freight car's deck, and there are hydraulic jacks that are used to raise the deck of the freight car to be flush with the dock.

Once the freight car has been set up and locked into place, and the newly-delivered car has been unfastened from the freight car, another Flexity that is on the overhead system will couple up and pull it off of the freight car and onto the live rails.

4645 was off loaded April 10 as the 42th car and it was a quick delivery by CPKC as they removed the flats of 4632 at the same time that was off loaded April 8.

4632 started testing and burn in hours after I posted that it was ready for testing on April 9

Got a few shots of the new cars on April 11 with 4644, 4609 and 4613. Have a few other shots of other cars.

So I guess after the last car is delivered, that's the end with no additional cars to be ordered?
That is how things usually work. You place an order, it gets filled, you pay and that's that.

The only wrinkle here is about the 2 or 3 badly damaged cars that were sent back - will they return, will they be replaced or will we just learn to live without them?

Where are you going to put any more cars considering TTC doesn't have the yard space now without building another Leslie or close to it. The only place for a new yard is by VIA yard going up residential street or up Kipling to TTC lands by Hydro One where the next bus garage is to be built.

Good time to build the Queensway LRT line to Sherway with a shorter and easy route and travel time to the Kipling yard than from the Lake Shore. Metrolinx Lakeshore Bridge will have to be rebuilt to get the LRV's under it.

4646 was off loaded today.

4645 has started burn in and testing yesterday.

4642 may enter service on Thursday based on turn around for SWIS work at Russell.

4643 and 4632 have completed their burn in, testing and being prepared for service before sent to Russell for final SWIS work. They could be in service by the end of the month to the first week of May.

4642 has entre service (30 Days On Route 503) after arriving March 18

4645 is now tracking inside of Russel Carhouse and the first time this has happen after been off loaded. I guess Leslie is too busy dealing with the other new cars as well the existing fleet.
