I wonder what surprise Metrolinx has in store for us for the 100th anniversary of Union Station.

Maybe it will be a massive delay to the Bremner Concourse! Or a delay to the Union Station Signaling project! Or maybe even an announcement of the full cancellation of the electrification of the GO network! So many possibilities for Metrolinx to screw over riders, i'm so excited to find out what the grand plans are.
what ever happened to the electrification? canceled? delayed?

I also decided to do alternative post-reconfiguration versions of each platform level map. Here is the first one, showing the future look of the platforms between Lower Simcoe St-York St:

The designations (what services uses each platform) and the platform numbers are my guess on what they’ll be, not confirmed information.

Finally had a chance to swing by the new Bingz at Union. Didn't see any of these in China but we have like eight in Toronto lol

The lineup for Uniqlo was nearly wrapped around to this stall yesterday at lunch. Have to say that whole area, from Uniqlo at Bay St Promenade wrapping around to Union Food Court, feels like a proper train station. Very busy these days.

Union Station was a great place to go for lunch for a while, but now it's too busy all the time. You have to line up for basically anything good.
Nobody goes downtown it's too busy!

That said, I think eating there would be tiresome if you were looking for somewhere quiet. Bingz does have a little back area with some tables which is more pleasant to eat in than the main area. I try to avoid eating in the Food Court during events because it's too busy.

I'm not necessarily looking for somewhere quiet, but I work down here, so I'm just looking for something for lunch. Union has some really tasty spots, but I can't line up on a regular basis just to get lunch.

If you're really pressed for time I can think of at least eight places in Union that allow pre-orders via the app. The sushi takeout spot has become an almost weekly stop for me, especially after 6pm when it's 30% off all prepared food. Grab and go and the checkout is very fast with two lines.
