Is it paint or a membrane?
Is it paint or a membrane?
That is a great question that I don't know the answer to. Based on my very limited understanding of waterproofing, I would suspect it is some type of waterproof layered membrane designed to being water to the edges to be brought to somewhere else.Is it paint or a membrane?
Membrane. This material looks to be either a TPO or PVC membrane, but it is impossible to tell by the pictures alone since both materials are white. Both of these materials are pretty standard for commercial roofing now. These roofs have the membrane on top, underlain by a roof board (the grey material), further underlain by an insulation layer. Is it paint or a membrane?
I wonder if that's the final look or if there will be a further layer on the roof. Can't imagine it stays that clean looking for long.Membrane. The white is not meant to stay clean, it is meant to reflect sunlight and improve thermal performance of the building. These roofs do indeed get dirty and need to be cleaned/maintained.I wonder if that's the final look or if there will be a further layer on the roof. I was just going to say, why is the old scoreboard there? Isn't it just in the way during renos? Surely we're getting a new scoreboard, right, right?!![]()

Happy that they have OVG and are doing a big-time reno. But so sad that they have apparently kept that embarrassing old scoreboard.
OVG should be embarrassed if they don't install a new one. There's been a lot of criticism of this reno and deal, and I've defended it. But if that piece of junk is staying, I'll be switching over to the critics side. When the reno plans were more modest pre-OVG, a scoreboard was part of the stated plans. But since OVG came on board, there has been no mention of it.
When they renovated the Baltimore arena, they also did not put in a new one, with the justification that it was a music-first building. The Baltimore scoreboard is also pretty bad, but not as bad as the Hamilton one.
Let's see.
I'm glad they kept the scoreboard up during the renovation. Hopefully they accidentally destroy it during the reno, so they'll be forced to get a new/updated one.I was just going to say, why is the old scoreboard there? Isn't it just in the way during renos?
