The spray on grass is growing! I guess you can spray it on and let it freeze in the late fall.

I have no idea what they are doing on the north side construction site. Maybe just “park-ing it” until the weather improves.

Yeah I honestly dont know what theses crews are doing here. I've been seeing them every day for the past 2 weeks since they've completed the fence work.

Maybe just meeting up every day enjoying their coffee, relaxing and hanging out for 9 hours because I have noticed any differences lately.

They are working on the water feature :)

A helpful designer's intention plaque could help clarify some of the implied symbolism in the park's many features. Who knows, maybe the entire thing is meant to be viewed from high above.

A few pics from today, April 22nd, 2025 (then a comment or three....)

Comments:

1) Yeah, it's early, but the hydro seeding isn't performing particularly well. By contrast, my chives are now over 10cm tall, and harvestable. This should be greener.
Sod costs more, but you can see the performance difference. Too early to write off the hydro seed, but if it's not aggressively greening in two weeks, sod incoming.

2) The birch trees look, at first blush, like the multi-stem European variety (could also be River Birch). LA's love these as do nurseries. I'm less keen on them. Aside from not being native * (* there are native cultivars done like this sometimes)...
I find the multi-stem form more susceptible to major breaks/failures.

Also, White Birch varietals typically like soil mesic (medium moisture) to slightly moist. Putting them up on constructed mounds that look a bit compacted.............ummm....ok.

3) Why is the paved 'path' at least 5M, if not 6M wide? It's huge......... Just asking.

Some exciting updates! Looks like nature has grown interested in the site, let's have a look at Toronto's newest attraction, the Toronto canal:

Honestly what has GIP been doing on this site for the past 3 weeks? There's no sign of any visible work, but yet they've been on site everyday over this stretch. Heck I've even seen dump trucks but I've seen no difference on site:

It's not like anyone is in any hurry to build the towers or the Harbour St extension, so I'm honestly starting believe they're meeting for daily coffees and chats. Maybe they've started a book club and this is their new meeting site.
