...I mean, they're taking a more naturalist approach by leaving those parks to the elements and local fauna for the evolving growth and aesthetics. /s
 
Or who knows, maybe the "temporary" park will be left in a never ending temporary state because the city will transition it to it's legendary approved but unfunded projects list.

Especially if (God forbid), Mr. Status Quo makes a return to his post.
