Yeah, the white brick almost looks like scuffed red brick...The brick above the cornice part still baffles me.. and apparently they have no concept of symmetry when it comes to punching vents in, but it's coming along at least - the back imo looks the best lol.. but yeah.. those white bricks.. so distracting.. you have to struggle to even look at the bricked in windows design on the side..
I am not even sure the white was INTENTIONAL - seems like salt leech as the white is uneven on each of them.. kinda bizarre.. I'd like to know the story behind that - It's most jarring on the east side but at least the real windows on the other faces help to break it up a bit..
Yup I'd have to agree with you on that. That was truly such an eyesore - it's crazy how much this intersection has changed (for the better)
Ah i remember the good old days where I would wait for the convoy of HSR buses in front of the narrow sidewalks at bus stop here at King and Caroline, while looking into that sad car dealership directly opposite me. Wow have the times changed.considering what used to be here, I think we're just nitpicking. Even if the original brick could have been refinished, no guarantee it would have been better. I welcome this podium, its much closer to what this group wants to see than many others.
