It's kind of growing on me, to be honest.
I have not seen any plans but, based on past experience, I assume the developer will want it taller. If it looks good (one can hope!) then Empire will look even more boring; if it is not then it will fit in.What's the plan for the property to the immediate east of this? That may ease the pain somewhat.
temporary condition. Or at least supposed to be temporary, if the City can ever get funding for the Waterfront East streetcar..The public realm along Queens Quay is atrocious here. Who the hell approved stairs along the entire frontage? Also, what’s the clearance between the fire hydrant and the steps? The sidewalk is insanely narrow as a result, and forces pedestrians right along the street.
This whole project was already a steaming pile of garbage. This is just the cherry on top.
Edit: went back a few pages and saw @DSCToronto’s post stating this is an interim condition. Phewww

They have had building permits filed for a while for the block to the east but no activity on site yet..
I would say more likely to connect sewers and utilities but we shall see!Maybe things are progressing on the new street.
