The park has the huge number of lights and light poles, I think the reason that was given is that they are 'decorative' and will have 'interesting' lighting. Is this so, or is it so yet?
Is this the park that was seeking private funding to create some sorta interactive park?Funded. The remaining parkland will be completed in 2026.

As far as I know it is not funded and I have seen no signs of fund raising going on.
I think you are partly right, some of the park on the west side of Cherry will certainly be open in 2026 (Canoe Cove, the Atlas Crane base and the lookout) but I agree that the Play Park will not - question is will WT open the space up as 'grass' or simply keep it fenced-off waiting for the $$$$It looks like it has preliminary funding of $200,000 but looking for $75 million in private funding, though this info is dated now. I think I was confused that the park on the west side of Ookwemin Minising will be completed by 2026. I assumed that included the PlayPark. Apparently not.
^Also the Promontory Park and event lawn will open this Fall or early 2026. I bet the TSO will perform for the opening! So much for Gan Eden!![]()
Sad to report that we biked down to inspect the lighting. NOT impressive, colourful or artistic. The park has the huge number of lights and light poles, I think the reason that was given is that they are 'decorative' and will have 'interesting' lighting. Is this so, or is it so yet?
I took a bunch of photos of the wildflowers, since they had some really nice ones and I am looking for some ideas for things to plant in the laneway by our house. The evening primrose is really nice. I planted a "wildflower mix" this spring and have some nice flowers, but a little more variety wouldn't hurt.

Post photos of the area where you want to plant or send them to me in a message, and I can give you some suggestions w/photos.
This reminds me of an instagram account that bikes around public spaces with a local wildflower mix shaker planting flowers.
I know it's not the right place, but since it's brought up—does this method actually plant flowers even if they're just sitting on dried up soil? Is it helpful in anyway?
And is it feasible and legal in Toronto to do this with our own local wildflower mix?
