That's too small of a space and it's right next to Redpath. Is there a specific reason why this new beach at OP doesn't connect to the water? Why not build a real beach?^Like Sugar Beach?![]()
This CTV report says there is an "event space" planned for the roof - https://www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/politics/queens-park/article/ontario-place-final-designs-revealed/
"Ford said Tuesday that it will be four or five storeys, with an event space on the roof, and will have room for 3,500 vehicles – 1,000 more than originally contemplated."
So true. The parkade is so large that it's not pictured anywhere in its entirety. It's absolutely massive and it'll overshadow the waterfront.
If we had a leader as Mayor, they'd instantly get on the phone with Doug and insist that they do a 1:1 land swap. Move the parkade to the north side of Lake Shore. It would be closer to Therme, to the Ontario Line subway station and to BMO Field and would free up space for extending Coronation Park by the water.

We don't need a giant parking lot that is converted to a fair 18 days per year. Princes' Blvd and the pavilions are sufficient to host the CNE. Rides can be assembled in the remaining parking lots and in the new park by the water. During the CNE, the ground floor of the parkade can be used for carney trailers, which is what that space is usually used for.
There's also plenty of room to expand the BMO Field stands for the World Cup.
And they could build a grandstand into structure for the Indy and perhaps get a Grand Prix race out of the deal. Now that would be bang for the buck.So true. The parkade is so large that it's not pictured anywhere in its entirety. It's absolutely massive and it'll overshadow the waterfront.

Not sure what you mean by "another redesign" when upon release of their previous design months ago they were specifically asked to descope the size of the of the spa by the city of toronto and to increase public space of therme side of the land.Another redesign? It seems as though they're not taking this seriously, almost like to them it's just a game of coming up with new computer images for something they know they're not really going to build.
