Craneville at the Don
As tower cranes drop off downtown, portable cranes step up.

Some of them must be the same.

Sorry about a message I sent last week; not sur what blue truss structure is but not looking like a tower crane!
Could someone tell me what this stuff is?

Look like crane parts to me. I think I read that a crane was being installed soon too.

Captured where both bridges will go, but can anyone trace the elevated portions between the two bridges on my picture? I can't visualize it.

Is this it?

Obviously it can't make right angle turns like that, so here's a the full shot if someone else wants to try and trace it.

Something like this:

Ah interesting. So the big dirt patch in the circled area doesn't have anything to do with it?

Also is the roadwork going on Overlea right now part of it? The road is all torn up.

That whole area to the left of the red line route is the OMSF. all the way to the rail line

That's for storage tracks for the Maintenance and Storage Facility, etc.

Much of it. Though the commercial area behind the station, and then southwest towards Millwood survives. Which will presumably become massively intensified over the years as a TOD.

Argh, people love to throw out acronyms that make my brain go blank.
OMSF = Ontario Municipal Storage Facility, which the Metrolinx website says should properly be used to refer to a different site in Mississauga.
Google also returns: OMFS = Oral and MaxilloFacial Surgery, a department in U of T's dentistry programme.
You're welcome.

Anyway, I presumed the OMSF site is where the line was to go, I'm surprised it's actually going in front of the Salvation Army office building. I would have thought, and the very least, the line might go under it. If the line were to go behind that building, it would need to squeeze between it and the big hydro electric station, which I'm sure would be off limits to a transit project, even for tunnelling under it.
But that's why I'm here, to learn stuff.
