I don’t have any update, but at least in my area at least it feels like construction is at a standstill. Barely seen any workers this week. I saw one walking in the ROW on their own.

Is construction paused due to the 30 degree weather? It seems like they make more progress in the winter than in the summer. At least I was surprised to see construction going on during winter. In the summer, when you’d think they’d be working, it seems really sparse lately and barely any visible progress. I feel like it’s been months since they started construction on the Fairview station but still no vertical construction.

Construction was never fast, but it just seems even slower now. Beginning of this year i really thought that it could open later this year. Now it’s very plain there’s zero chance of that happening.
It appears that every single project minus the Gardiner rebuild is faced with the same issue, workers not actually working at their site. No wonder these timelines are meaningless as you can't complete something if you are not actually at work.

Open this year?

There was always a 0% chance of this thing opening this year. It's also not opening next year. Frankly the earliest this will open is 2027 (mid-late).

Well If I recall, construction started at the same time as Finch, and Finch should be opening this year. So I don’t know why it’s so day behind

Who even knows when Finch West is opening. I said earlier I didnt think it would open until that Legal dispute is settled, and who knows where that stands.

So in short:
Finch West--> ???? (I'm willing to bet 2026)
Crosstown--> 2026
Hurontario--> mid-late 2027
Hamilton--> 🤣

Metrolinx has pretty constricting hot weather work restrictions depending on the outside temperature.

If you looked at the corridor at the beginning of the year, there was zero chance opening in 2026 with an 2027 date with a slight chance for the end of 2026..

I haven't looked at the corridor in weeks other than around us and it been dead as a door nail. Different work is taking place on Dundas.

Given no real work has taken place this year as plan, 2027-2028 maybe the opening date subject to a few things now.

Great shots. Should try getting shots of the guideway from Topflight to the OMSF.

The only changes I can see from these shots from my last site visit as follow

407
The ramps have been repaved by the 407 owner and you can see where concrete work was done for the westbound lanes and ramp. Rest of the ramp will be repave by Mobilinx when they finish rebuilding the intersection for the northbound lanes

The ends of the bridge is poured, Looks like 90% of the barrier wall between the guideway and the northbound lanes has been poured. Still have to pour the guideway first before backfilling the ends that will be follow by the curb work for the ramps. Once done, paving of the northbound lanes can take place and traffic relocated to it. Work then can take place to build the guideway from Topflight.

May see concrete pour for the guideway this month.

Topflight
A one of the diamonds is in place with 2 more to go. The two curb tracks have been reinstalled. Still a fair amount of trackwork still to be done with a chance it maybe finish by the end of July. July was to be the completion month with no date for it.

Traffic should be using the intersection come August with a lot of happy drivers.

The amount of work taking place on the Purple line in 45 weather was more than ML at 30 from what I saw. Same for other work not related to the Purple line. It does slow things down and requires more water breaks and cooling time..

If work was happening at a slower pace I'd get it. But these past few weeks it just seems like zero work is happening. And the year in general, it doesn't seem like a lot has happened. I feel there was much more progress in 2024 and 2025 they just ran out of money to actually construct anything.

Why would the legal disputes impact that?

When did they finish the Line 1 extension to Vaughan legal disputes. That opened last decade, and I wasn't aware that all the legal issues have been settled. The final work seems to have been paused for years.

I'm no legal expert but one has to do with the operation of the line, while the other not so much.

Which one of the hundreds of lawsuits are you referring to, and how would it impact services?
You brought up the Spadina extension; even though there were many lawsuits there, none of them involved a dispute with route operations directly (ie: the operator of the line). Finch West on the other hand does.
