Cross-posted from Metrolinx Other.

This map was at the Metrolinx booth at the Pride street festival. It was posted by "not Taylor | YKF" on the Global Infrastructure and Transit Discord server, GO Transit thread.

I believe this is one of the first instances of the larger SQ1 loop being visualized. I don't recall seeing it being posted by Metrolinx on any of their feeds yet.

Why don't they add more stations to the Richmond Hill line??, it runs North/South right through the city
If that map was completed & reliable, we would have really good coverage light & heavy rail

Much of that symbolic blue line that lacks stations is running along the bottom of the Don River Valley - there's little room to squeeze more stations in until it climbs out of the valley, just before Oriole.

I don’t understand the map. Kariya is further east than the current bus terminal. Are they not actually placing the kariya stop at kariya. Are they moving the new city centre terminal directly beside hurontario?

Don’t take the positioning at face value. It is a symbolic map and definitely not to scale.

Kariya is busy, but doesn't really warrant a stop being so close to to the Burnhamthorpe stop, in mind. Unless we're doing TTC-style streetcar spacing.

Dan we live literally here. Let’s take the stop and let others fight for their stops.

Duke of York should have a stop though.

How did a creek end up being left open to run along an arterial road like that for such a short distance back in the day?
If you look at the photos before construction started on the LRT/Creek and today look, its night and day for the better. The GO parking lot lost space with the rebuilding of the Mary Fix Creek with a high wall protecting the LRT. It was done to deal with flooding issues for the creek up stream. It is almost 3 times wider than before.

Duke of York needs a station, but not Kariya at this time based on ML stop spacing. Your stop is Burnhamthorpe going South/North, but will become a problem when the line is split in two. That is a huge gap between Robert Speck and DoY. Stop spacing is 400-600m, but been on a few systems where it is 700-1500m.

There was a plan to have a stop on Burnhamthorpe at Hurontario as well on Hurontario on the northside to deal with the line splitting and no idea if it is still in the picture. We will/or may get an picture what is now plan for the loop when ML goes before council sometime this fall.

They are NOT moving the new city centre terminal directly beside Hurontario as it will be in front of CCTT as there is no room or access to have one next to Hurontario.

I see why the thread was quite while I was away for June as nothing has change for the corridor before I left or from May.

Took a look of the full corridor today starting at PC to Brampton and leave it to the Brampton folks to fill in more detail what taking place there.

PC hasn't change since early April-May other that the guideway was in place near the end of May. All work is completed for the North Service Rd and area.

Dundas St E Phase 1 work is done with Phase 2 starting with the corner in the same condition. As for the substation area, there was 2 pads when I saw it before leaving, but one pad now with more forming for it as well the edge of the property.

I will have to take a look at the new pathway for the GO station area as well the bridge pier area.

The 403-bridge ramp hasn't been touched at all this month. Looks like more grading may have been place for the wye area.

Topflight: The more I see of this intersection rebuilt, it clearly saying it should have been rip out and done right. The amount of work still to be done to rebuild the rail anchors is still on going and not sure what is plan for the curve section from Hurontario to Topflight. The 2 diamonds are now fully spliced and waiting to be reinstall. The north-westbound curb has been poured including the rebuilding of most of the motel driveway curb along repaving the area. Maybe it will be done Aug-Oct this year, but not July.

OMSF: The area by the 407 terminal is seeing new rail anchoring base rebuilt as well from what I could see, all the way to the OMSF. Will not attempt to say when this work will be completed other than the end of the year at this time.

407-Bridge: The east sidewalk barrier wall in place and waiting railing for it. Forming at each end underway. The guideway is now completed for the rebar work and rail base to allow concrete to be pour for it. Forming underway for the barrier wall between the guideway and the northbound lane at the north end. May see backfilling taking place by the end of July. Will be lucky to see the northbound lanes open by September.

Brampton: looks like more southbound curb has been pour from the 407 to Ray Lawson. No change for the north-west corner. Work has started on the southbound curb in various locations with a pile of storm water pipes waiting to be install. The south-east area south of Steeles looks like it seeing curb work.

As we head into July tomorrow, a good chunk of this year work has failed to take place and pushing opening date closer to 2028 now. It been said that Mississauga mayor expects the line to be in service late 2026 and not a chance in hell unless 7/24 works take place with a number of contractors doing the work not part of Mobilinx team as different track crews. Even then, more like 2027.

I happen to have a look at Sliver City MD Purple Line being built for 16.8 miles and schedule to open in 2027. It had legal issues from the word go that saw one of the judges overseeing the opposing the line case removed from the case as his wife was leading the opposition to the line that would run behind their house. Then the P3 contractor walked away from the project due to conflicts with the government and the contract that was partly built. The remaining work went to several contractors to the point I was seeing not only completed sections, but also the test bed for burning in the new cars. Only saw one CAF 5 section car on the test bed by the complex yard and don't know if anymore inside of the building. By year end, a few more miles of tracks will be ready for testing including the end station that connects to Amtrak, Marc, Metro subway and a large bus hub.

The line is a mixture of centre of the road, one side of the road, next to CSX line with a crash wall between the two systems and next to a path/trail that started the legal issues. Trackwork is meanly RR style with concrete ties block that will see concrete pour over them for various street areas. Stations set back not as far as the Hurontario with better shelters.

I've said it before, but everyone thinking of a 2026 launch date needs to understand that unless construction operations were 24/7 including holidays, there's no way they're going to be launching next year unless by some miracle things become clearer and there are no more mistakes made.

Thanks for this. There was a higher-res version posted on reddit. Here's the loop zoomed in...

Early clues that ML is leaning toward pushing the loop out to Confederation? I think the further west it goes the better, Rathburn and Burnhamthorpe need a good excuse to reduce the # of lanes if these roads are ever going to feel less hostile for pedestrians/cyclists.
