I just got caught up on this thread and don't believe I've seen it mentioned here yet: When I was driving on the 407 two weeks ago, I saw that there were now trains visible in the yard outside the MSF buildings.
Glad someone else noticed, I saw a couple there last week while driving by. They look to be the same Citadis trains as those on Line 6

I haven't look at the yard since last year I think I and was told cars were being store inside sometime ago. No idea how many are on site now compare to the 2 when I was told cars were on site sometime ago.

I made a request to ML sometime ago for permission to do an article on the OMSF along with a site tour and photo shoot, but was I was told a week later that Mobilinx will not allow anyone onto their site unless they are part of the project team. This includes ML staff dealing with the project unless they are doing inspection as part of the contract agreement. Same goes for Mississauga staff.

I was hoping to get shots of the new cars as well have inside look before now, There are 27 for this phase and we will have to wait until they do the first car walking testing of the line to make sure there are no issues with anything before the testing and burn in of the fleet this fall. July was supposed to be the timeframe for testing, but I did not see it happen when I was given the timeframe based on what was to take place for Topflight intersection along with the completion of the not install tracks from Topflight to Eglinton along with the OS being install and tested. We are almost at the end of May with no trackwork taking place starting this month as well fixing things that need to be fix.

I have no idea how much concrete work has to be done to fix the areas where concrete has to be replace from the OMSF to Topflight other than what I have seen by the 407 bus terminal. Next week Watergarden Dr intersection is to see work and no idea what at this time. I am looking at a fall date now based on what has to be done as well no work has started for the test bed and subject to what takes place in the next 2 months.

I noticed today the storage area by the Cooksville LRT station that it is stack full of ties for the guideway as I pass it on the bus.

They are the same cars as Ottawa fleet as well line 6 in ML colours

They need some fresh air! 🤪
I have never heard of them, but not my field of knowledge. They been around since 1991 out of Erin ON and do other work other than RR work.

Are they doing just Topflight or will they be doing the guideway work??

Don't know what has taken place since my last visit for the intersection nor the 407 bridge and Brampton work..

Zero clue unfortunately. ML is tight lipped on who's doing what. I'd imagine that the Topflight intersection is a pain point because of proximity to the OMSF, and ML/Alstom really wanting to get this right to avoid any potential damage to the LRV's, track, or derailments. I'd imagine that maybe they'll ask the same company to go out and inspect other trackwork for similar issues - Or maybe they've already done so and have recommendations on what needs to be ripped and replaced, and will be overseeing that work alongside Amico too.

I'll keep my eyes peeled on my days off to see if I notice anything from this end.

"The 11-page report also includes requests for the province to reduce the city’s share of funding for the new Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, the uploading of costs for the Hazel McCallion LRT to the province for one year and a plan for Mississauga to take over responsibility of regional roads in their jurisdiction."

And

"The briefing document also asks the province for financial support and a new deal on transit — like the one between Toronto and Ontario that included the uploading to the Gardiner and Don Valley Expressway to the province — and take on the cost of running the Hazel McCallion LRT for the first year."

More up on my site for all of may now

There been very little movement for the trench work at Dundas since May 9 from what I saw. Concrete base poured for the 2 substations

If you look at May 7 shots of Port Credit Station and May 20, next to nothing has taken place for bricking the Station. The tarp is off the south end.

More up on my site

After pickup up the car today, did a drive for the whole corridor as it will be July before I see it again when I leave town early June. Hope others will keep an update while I am away.

Over all, the corridor was dead with some work taking place as follow,

Crew working on Port Credit underground station with a crew working on the westside of Mary Fix Creek.

North Service Rd still being worked on.

The section between the Queensway and Sherobee is now steak for the pouring of the guideway southbound curb to get the road back to 2 lanes. Crew doing work there.

About 4-8 more feet of trench work has taken place on Dundas since I saw it on the 2oth with part of it fill in and waiting paving at the crosswalk area to open that area up. Until that work is done, King St intersection guideway work is on hold since it allows drivers to make left turns onto Hurontario at cannot take place at Dundas due to single lane traffic.

Sump pump was pouring the elevated curb by the 403 eastbound off ramp. Other than forming for the 2nd part of the ramp retaining wall, no one on site with someone on the bridge. Most of the grading for the wye area is done, but more is needed to bring it up to final grade, especially heading to Sq One Station.

A number of 2-5 man crew doing work from the 403 to Derry.

Topflight: Have no idea who is installing the replacement trackwork as T&R and OWS as well BOTT vehicles are on site now. No sign of any Accurate Railroad Construction vehicles I saw on May 8. Lot more concrete for the track area has been removed.

Nearly all of the inbound by the 407 terminal has been fully removed along with concrete with a crew chipping concrete from the ties compared sections between the rails I saw on the May 8. Have no idea if more has taken place beyond the curve area as its out of site.

Looks like forming for the 407 bridge guard wall has started and hard to see it while driving by.

All the new northbound lanes between the 403 and Ray Lawson is paved and waiting stripping. The north-east Ray Lawson corner is now steak for curb pouring. Crews working in a number of locations up to Steeles with most of the northbound curb poured, expect the last block that has seen no work.

OMSF: a small crew doing some work, but the yard looks done now. 4 LRV's in the yard at various locations with no markings on them nor numbers with a white sheet in the front window. Could get a real close look at one sheet and it said HOUR005112, meaning the cars will be in the 5100's series.

Hear we are at the end of May with a lot of good weather so far this year and years behind schedule with no attempt to get back on course. With hydro no where to be seen to remove poles to allow road lanes to be open to allow traffic to be shift to the new lanes or allow the building the new lanes, building the guideway is dead in the water. Where is the overhead crew for installing the OS..........Oh, no tracks for the trucks to run on to do the work. Then there are 1 station to be fully finished that stop a tear ago, 4 stations that could frame with another 2 once the top coat is in place. As we keep moving with no work competed, the longer the line will opening with an 2028 date, almost 4 years late.

The best I could get for the LRV's at the OMSF with no markings and no idea if there are more inside. 23 more LRV's are to arrive and no idea if they will cover the loop once it built. With the extension to Brampton still years down the road, will not need those cars for some years,

Lot more up on my site

With the sunlight being great, try to get some better shots with another camera with a longer zoom of the LRV fleet, but too many poles in the way.

The word is that the trackwork to OMSF is a mess with lot more torn up than what is seen at the 407 bus terminal area, looks like a fair number of pads to hold the rail in place will have to be built like they have done for some in the Topflight Intersection. One has to question how much more rail and concrete will have to be torn up for Hurontario based on the OMSF tracks?

The 407 guideway is form and ready to have concrete pour for the base as the barrier wall between the guideway and the road cannot be pour until the guideway is done. The east handrail barrier wall is being form with concrete being pour late this week or the following week.

The 407 westbound ramp was close today with the westbound lanes close to one lane as roadwork was taking place just east of the on ramp and no idea if more was taking place to the west.

I do not expect to see the opening of the northbound lanes until July or Aug based on what taking place along the corridor.

Will it be open before World Cup 2026? I saw lots of works on the south of Dundas need to be done... And the widen roads are not paved and painted, even also the trees...

I can't see how it could be. Will the track even be finished by then?

I don't see why a handful of World Cup games on the Exhibition grounds would have much bearing on anything really. Though it would be nice if the new centre GO platform at Exhibition station is open.
