Yes, the original EA has a crossover west of Laird Station and a pocket track east of Laird Station which is the easternmost station in the tunnel. So this is where the short turns will occur and it will be high frequency service from Mt. Dennis through to Laird and then less frequent service after you go east of Leaside.
 
And since it's not particularly dense there's always the off the road option, which can diverge further away between stops if need be.
 
Since there are no lights between Leslie and Don Mills, whether it's in the road or not probably doesn't make any difference on that stretch anyway, even with ATC.
 
theres a York Eglinton BIA at York memorial tonight at 7pm... Apparently they are going to announce that Metrolinx wants to eliminate all street parking on Eglinton during construction...This is your chance to protest or support that idea but the BIA is against it for obvious reasons.

How can they dig down if cars are parked and in the way? Park on the side streets. Or allow parking in the area school parking lots, after hours of course.
 
I can see eliminating parking in the station areas and extraction shaft areas, but one of the benefits of a tunnel boring machine is supposed to be the minimization of impact on the surface. Why would all parking need to be eliminated? That doesn't make sense.

Jason submitted Dennis and Lea, after the names of the communities at each end of the tunnel.
The other winning submission was Humber and Don.
 
I saw that on the news too, when they mentioned Jason Paris it made me (even) proud(er) to be a UT'er.
 
They should be starting the next launch shaft at Eglinton West soon, shouldn't they? Based on how long it took them to prep the 1st one, the TBM will be there by the time they finish the one at Eglinton West.
