I guess the one thing we can glean from the tealeaves is reasonable confidence: delaing signups is administratively disruptive in a way that only makes sense if they actually believe it could pay off.

February 8th, This has already been a rumoured opening date since December when Metrolinx and TTC agreed to it as a possible opening date after Metrolinx had to concede it wasn't opening at the end of 2025 on their schedule and had to accept the TTC's schedule.

He posted a memo from the TTC to operators indicating that the sign-up for the February Board Period was delayed from January 14th, to January 21st (this Wednesday to next Wednesday)
The memo indicates the reason for delay as the need to create a revised board that incorporates line 5 operations.
The memo:
The Board Period begins Sunday, February 8th.
While this does not mean an opening date would be February 8th, that would likely be the preferred target. But the date would be within the Board period in question.
