Wow - there’s a huge gap in East-West connectivity between Eglinton and Sheppard.
The last sentence of the blog mentions 6 cars being delivered to the eastern side of the line for testing. Where?![]()
I saw signs up around Pharmacy, Golden Mile and VP saying testing was commencing soon. My guess is they will stuff them in Kennedy or Laird for the moment (if that is even an option)The last sentence of the log mentions 6 cars being delivered to the eastern side of the line for testing. Where?
And underground at Science Centre Station.I saw signs up around Pharmacy, Golden Mile and VP saying testing was commencing soon. My guess is they will stuff them in Kennedy or Laird for the moment (if that is even an option)
And here's our answer. The trains will be stored west of Leslie. Near Laird presumably.I saw signs up around Pharmacy, Golden Mile and VP saying testing was commencing soon. My guess is they will stuff them in Kennedy or Laird for the moment (if that is even an option)
To save funds, Metrolinx is using the first map so they don't have to pay for an up-to-date map.
Interesting that the entrance to the portal is made of block wall in the inner portion rather than formed concrete walls![]()
The poured concrete is where they need strength - it's load bearing.Interesting that the entrance to the portal is made of block wall in the inner portion rather than formed concrete walls

For that to happen they better find a way to grade separate Sunnybrooke Park, and to at least create a crossover at or before Science Center. Afaik with the current track layout, the next crossovers are at Laird and Sloane respectively, and creating a transfer point at either of those stations would be incredible silly, all meanwhile limiting the headways possible on both sections of the line or forcing very fast turnaround times. None of these scenerios are exactly ideal. With Eglinton West now a go and obviously resulting in higher ridership, do you think that ML will begin to operate the section from DM to Renforth as a Metro and then east of it as an LRT essentially creating 2 different lines? The at-grade section is going to seriously effect how frequently the trains can run putting them at essentially a MAXIMUM of every 3 minutes each way due to little signal priority and no rail guard crossings unlike Cal/Edm LRT. Of course an accident along the line also brings the entire route to a screeching halt.
This would not be unheard of and in fact was planned for Eglinton way back when TC was first announced. The only difference was that the Eglinton entire Crosstown was suppose to go way east of Eglinton down Kingston to UT Scar. It would have been 2 separate lines requiring a transfer at Kennedy. Could they do the same here and effectively have 2 lines so the underground portion from SC to Renforth can run at higher frequencies and even be automated? It may seem premature now but it's very possible that the Crosstown could be extended to MCC as the current Transitway is completely grade separated with full stations and hence the extension could be done both quickly and quite cheap.
Like a highway, a transit line is only as good as it's weakest link and due to Miller's LRT fixation, Eglinton has 9 km of it.
